There's more discussion of Lost World because there hasn't been a brand new Sonic game in a while, therefore there's a reason for discussions, however that doesn't mean that there's a ton of hype for it if it's the same people starting the new topics. And for 3D World, it looks like 3D Land in HD with larger areas and multiplayer...not much to discuss if you ask me. Plus, there has recently been shown new info about SLW lately, and we haven't heard of 3D World since E3.

Sales and hype don't necessarily correlate, no. Look at games likee The Conduit, Wii Sports Resort, Metroid Other M, ZombiU.

Pah, there are no good 3d sonics, 1, 2, 3 and knuckles are the only true sonic games, its been going downhill since Sonic CD

The way your were saying it made it sound like you think Sonic can't be good unless he does what Mario has done. If that's what you meant, then yes, that's pathetic of the Sonic franchise. 


eh?  Isaid "imo" aka "what I like" is when sonic takes the best of mario and improves it.  You're reading it the way you want to and choosing your words.  Day 1!!!  It's simple, this game looks f***ing fun.  That's all that matters.

Id be more inclined to say Croc legend of the gobbos meets crash bandicoot meets sonic colors before i even went anywhere near a mario game, but hey..

watttt!? Sonic 3>Sonic 2>Sonic 1>Sonic Adv Bat 2>Sonic Adv Bat 1>All other Sonic.....But Sonic Lost World might get in the top spot for sure! It looks amazing, Dont Hate :P

Which is why I said "should". If there truly was a ton of hype, then the sales should have been good from the start. If not, then the hype wasn't real and the level of it was exaggerated. ZombiU sold fairly well (with respect to the console sales), only to fall short due to the lack of selling consoles and reviews (which likely stirred some people away right before launch, you know that there are a lot of people who buy stuff based on reviews, which in my view is somewhat dumb). Conduit didn't have real hype (very little from your general FPS lovers which for the most part played shooters on the PS3/360), and Other M was slightly criticized from the start due to the fact that some people didn't like Samus' voice or the direction they took the series (and reviews). If hype levels were high, then why shouldn't a game sell well at launch? If there's excitement from a lot of people (hence, being a lot of hype), then what stops a game from selling well? Nothing aside from the fact that this apparent "hype" level wasn't real to begin with. 

There was hype for Wii Sports Resort? 

Anyway, we're derailing the topic from the apparent hype for Sonic and the nice pretty footage, carry on.

All I'm saying is that this particular idea of yours makes the Sonic franchise look pathetic if its "best" is when it does what Mario has done. You just now added that "improves it" part of your feelings towards SLW.

Anyway, I'm sure the game will be fun, but it's just not a Day 1 for me yet as nothing has shown me a "wow" factor.

Repeating what? You told me that it wasn't what you said, and I'm repeating it because it was what you said, as in it's your own words.

All I was hoping for is that you didn't intend to say that way, because in reality I don't think the Sonic franchise is pathetic.
