The hype for Sonic Lost World is very comparable, and in some cases even greater than Mario 3D World. Sonic is taking on Mario at his own game right now.

I disagree.  Mario galaxy had little round planets he jwalked on.  Lost world has long tubular planets he races through.   While there is some similarity I don't see how you can call it more of the same.  The momentum is different.  I'm not comparing hype, that's got nothing to do with what I said.  I'm comparing gameplay.   IMO sonic works best when using mario's playbook and speeding it up.  I honestly don't care if ppl are hyped for this game or not.  I'm not a huge sonic fan.  I just spot potential and this game is full of it.

This Sonic Title needs to get over a 90 on Metacritic! This game is F***ing Sick!!!! Any true Sonic fan could tell this might be the best in the series. Any SMG fans need to take a look at this title, i say this with a little regret but out of all games coming out this year(WiiU/3DS), After Pokemon X/Y this is tied for my most anticipated game (tied with DK tropical freeze) and it will be amazing (gameplay wise)

I said compared to Mario Galaxy, since people are talking about how its "OMG Super Sonic Galaxy!!!". And though I have little if any hype for SM3DW, I don't believe the SLW hype beats 3D World's hype, but I guess we'll see with sales and reception then in the future.

And speaking of SM3DW, there is a lot of mixed thoughts about it all over the place, especially since people had expected something more amazing, so I wouldn't be surprised if SLW was close to it in this point in time. But I can almost guarrantee that 3DWorld will beat SWL in overall reception and sales. EAD Tokyo has proven to have done a better job at pleasing gamers than the Sonic Team.

The fact that it's reminiscent of Mario Galaxy (and the fact that people are calling it "Sonic Galaxy") is what makes it feel like more of the same, because the general idea is the same, just at a faster pace. Plus, look at the fact that you yourself said that "Sonic Lost World looks to do what sonic does best....compete with Mario at his own game!" And again at "IMO sonic works best when using mario's playbook and speeding it up" His own game as in, the Mario Galaxy concept, correct? So Sonic can't be good unless he does something that Mario has done? I hope I'm not getting that impression from you, because that's kind of pathetic of the Sonic franchise if you say it like that.

Mario 3d world looks better graphically. But I wonder platform wise which will be better? Probably mario.

TBH, Super Mario Galaxy had that LoZ OoT effect for Wii, so good for its time/beyond amazing/etc but with sonic (gameplay wise) it looks like it evolves on that. What I mean is Sonic doing wat mario cant, SPEED/PARKCORE(i most likely spelt that wrong lmfao) truly amazing gameplay imo. This is coming from some1 who played every mario game and missed out on Sonic Unleashed/Colors/Generations. YES im that hyped for this! ps: SMG will probably still be the better game though :/

I was talking about hype, not sales.

If you look at sites like Gamefaqs, there's more discussion on Lost World than 3D World, same goes for a lot of forums, including this one.

You'll know about the true amount of hype if the sales show it. IF there's a lot of hype to something, then the sales should follow a similar trend, no?

There's more discussion of Lost World because there hasn't been a brand new Sonic game in a while, therefore there's a reason for discussions, however that doesn't mean that there's a ton of hype for it if it's the same people starting the new topics. And for 3D World, it looks like 3D Land in HD with larger areas and multiplayer...not much to discuss if you ask me. Plus, there has recently been shown new info about SLW lately, and we haven't heard of 3D World since E3.

The way your were saying it made it sound like you think Sonic can't be good unless he does what Mario has done. If that's what you meant, then yes, that's pathetic of the Sonic franchise.
