The hype for Sonic Lost World is very comparable, and in some cases even greater than Mario 3D World. Sonic is taking on Mario at his own game right now.

I said compared to Mario Galaxy, since people are talking about how its "OMG Super Sonic Galaxy!!!". And though I have little if any hype for SM3DW, I don't believe the SLW hype beats 3D World's hype, but I guess we'll see with sales and reception then in the future.

And speaking of SM3DW, there is a lot of mixed thoughts about it all over the place, especially since people had expected something more amazing, so I wouldn't be surprised if SLW was close to it in this point in time. But I can almost guarrantee that 3DWorld will beat SWL in overall reception and sales. EAD Tokyo has proven to have done a better job at pleasing gamers than the Sonic Team.

The fact that it's reminiscent of Mario Galaxy (and the fact that people are calling it "Sonic Galaxy") is what makes it feel like more of the same, because the general idea is the same, just at a faster pace. Plus, look at the fact that you yourself said that "Sonic Lost World looks to do what sonic does best....compete with Mario at his own game!" And again at "IMO sonic works best when using mario's playbook and speeding it up" His own game as in, the Mario Galaxy concept, correct? So Sonic can't be good unless he does something that Mario has done? I hope I'm not getting that impression from you, because that's kind of pathetic of the Sonic franchise if you say it like that.
