Which one did you enjoy the most?

Mario Kart: Double Dash 43 52.44%

Mario Kart Wii 37 45.12%

Total:80

The tag teaming is ok in DD but what I really liked were the character specific items. But the biggest problems for me were that the tracks were pretty weak for the series and it juuust feeeelt tooooo sloooooow.

I like MK Wii better; liked the online and loved the cycles, but I didn't like that the powerslide boosts are given away so cheaply.

Double Dash

=Personal Items
=Best Tracks
=2 people Tag Team (awesome)

MK Wii

=Everything Better aside from wat i posted for DD

^This, although how do you determine which has better tracks?

Base on your skills, to me, Mario KArt Wii felt like a casual scroll through the park. Double Dash felt more creative espcially Waluigi Track.

I'm probably going to sound like a prick for saying but I felt Mario Kart Wii was too causal and WAY TOO EASY!!!

How's that? Difficulty is practically entirely dependent on your opponents. The more you win, the better your opponent's will be as it tries to match you up with similarly ranked players.

True, aka, who get a hole of the blue shell first. The track was never a problem, it was painfully too easy, what made it hard was the items. Who ever got a hand of the blue shell' your screwed and blue shells spwaned way too much.

I guess that's a better, simpler way of saying it, Double Dash feels way more balance and control better compare to MKWii which feel a bit floaty at time.

Tracks don't make up much of the difficulty. Maybe some can be a chore at first, but eventually you'll learn the best ways to navigate through them!

Yeah, MKWii's items were pretty derptastic, and 12 players at once made things even more chaotic! Even so, the better racers will win more often than not, though you have to be using an inverted drift bike to even have a chance, which is another issue with the game's balancing, but that's all in the past so I wont rant about it!

I haven't played MKWii in a while so I can't speak much of it's controls, but I don't remember having any problems with the controls in MKWii or any MK game in the series. Any slight differences in the controls between games simply requires some time to get used to I'd think. MK8's controls, atleast from the demo, were looser than in MK7, but I quickly got the hang of it and was able to maneuver how I wanted to. I'd be perfectly fine with it if the controls are the same in the final game.

Mario Kart Wii wasn't easy. In fact, on this forum we had people crying over how hard it was to get three star rankings.

Now why is MK Wii better than DD?

1) Customizable four player GPs.
2) No snaking, thus actual racing. Emphasized by the miniboost system that rewarded you for entering turns at the correct angle like it should be in a racing game.
3) Not as easy as DD. Touching walls or going off track in DD didn't get properly punished.
4) Better item balance. DD's character-specific items made the game lopsided.
5) More tracks, more options, online.

It's also a myth that there is a higher frequency of blue shells in MK Wii. 1-2 per race are also the norm in DD, outliers of 0 or 3 every now and then also happen in both games.

That's true regarding your second point. On the one hand I like having to work for your powerslide boost, but on the other, people abusing it by snaking sucks.

Except whenever I was racing! Dx

Is Mario Kart Wii's item line-up really more balanced that Double Dash? All I can remember is that the bullet bill is a more sane version of the chain chomp, but other than that I'm drawing blanks on the rest of it's item roster.

Mario Kart Wii, easily. It is the best Mario Kart that I have played.

I fail to see how Double Dash gets so much love around here. It is my least favorite of all the Mario Karts.

Lol! I knew people were going to say double Dash before I even came in here.

Mario Kart Wii. Shells matter little to me.

Also...the same people praising the same system that barely made a dent in sales.

What do GC sales have to do with anything?
