Coming off an emotional high and a short week, with the Pats scheduled for the following week. It has all the elements of a trap game.

So a trap game is one that the players don't really care about. Overconfident because of a recent win and already mentally focused on a game in the future. Well, there's your excuse to not straight up copy my picks this week (Falcons are on a bye). Or is it more that you want to persuade me to go with the Steelers, so that you can have the Jets? |
I would never be so disingenuous as to try to trick folks onto the wrong team. Completely unrelated, I see you picked the Niners. Let me explain to you how division rivals are always a tough game, and how Kaepernick isn't looking so hot recently...

I think the Pittsbrugh bye week is going to have them coming back swinging. Other then the foregoing the only game that is up in the air is CAR - MIN.

If you won't, then I will. Romo isn't a choker. http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4696976/do-stats-lie-no-qb-better-than-tony-romo-in-fourth-quarter Fact: Romo has the highest fourth-quarter passer rating among active quarterbacks. And it’s not even close. His 102.1 rating is more than five points higher than the second man on the list, Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers. http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/article-1/In-The-Clutch/EAA2AEFFBFA8458D8D77DB28D903FB43 In the fourth quarter, however, Romo's passer rating actually soars to 102.9. Since 2008, the year after "The Drop," Romo has thrown an astounding 30 touchdowns to only eight interceptions in the fourth quarter. And despite the fourth quarter Revis interception to which Wyche's quote refers, Romo finished the 2011 season with 10 touchdowns and two picks in the final 15 minutes of games. What a choke artist. http://nfl.si.com/2013/08/13/tony-romo-dallas-cowboys/ If you’re into more advanced metrics, consider this: In four of the last five seasons, Romo has an above-average DVOA (Football Outsiders’ opponent-adjusted per-play efficiency metric) in late and close situations (any play in the second half or overtime when the score is within eight points). The 2010 season is the only exception, and in the other four seasons, Romo’s DVOA is actually higher in those situations than overall. And if you choose to argue that Romo melts under the brightest spotlights, consider that he has one of the best Quarterback DVOA rankings in nationally televised games since 2008. http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/2013/08/breaking-down-the-boys-why-tony-romo-is-actually-at-his-best-in-the-fourth-quarter.html/
Over the past two seasons, only Eli Manning has led more fourth quarter comeback wins than Romo. There’s a little bit of a selection bias at work because some quarterbacks, such as Brady and Rodgers, don’t lead a lot of comeback victories since their teams aren’t losing that often. But it’s still interesting that Romo has beat out many of his more comparable peers. |
Thank you! I'm going to use this post at work to (temporarily) shut up the dumbass Cowboy fans at work. One moron won't shut up about Romo even though I keep backing him into a corner with his logic.

Doing this early so I do not forget. Go Raiders!!!!! |
It seems like every week I am rooting against a lot of teams I pick to win.
Biggest non- Denver game this week seem to be Saints- Patriots. Gronk makes his long awaited return, but is it enough to pull Brady back from his worst season in forever? If the pats lose we finally have a competition in AFC East.
Biggest surprise of the year is the terrible play of the Falcons.
