I was very happy with my original PS, so after that i just kept on buying SONY's consoles and never looked back. So far I haven't been disappointed with a single purchase I made. Favorite SONY's console is definitely PSV :)

I do however play several games on PC as well (some FPS games, GW and of course RTS games).

PS3 - For exclusives.
PC - For other multiplatform games.

For me, it's the exclusives.

PS3 - God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, LittleBigPlanet.
360 - Gears of War, PGR3, Fable 2.
Wii - Zelda: TP, Super Mario Galaxy.

PSP - God of War: CoO, Daxter.

PS2 - Gran Turismo 3, Jak and Daxter.
Xbox - Fable, PGR2.
GameCube - Luigi's Mansion.

PS1 - Gran Turismo, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro.

These are the system sellers for me, however my brother mostly paid for the Wii/GC as I only wanted to play very few games on those systems but I still contributed a little so they're mine too!

Because Games! I collect Games and gaming machines. Last week I added an Atari 800XL to my collection... why? because you have to experience the Joys of loading a game from a cassette for 25 mins to see how Awesome 30 year old atari graphics on a 42hdtv look to truly enjoy newer machines haha.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

ps3=first party exclusives (uncharted, the last of us, god of war, little big planet...) & third party exclusives (mgs 4, heavenly sword...)
xbox 360=alan wake, dead rising and gears of war

Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

I own a WiiU just because it is backwards compatible with the Wii, needed a new console around the time of launch and decided to invest early in the new system. Always had a PC of some sorts since I was a little kid, and my mobile gaming started with the classic Snake; so those are just evolved purchases.

Next-gen:
WiiU = backwards compatible, 1st party titles, and hoping for stylus games (Art Academy, Picross3D)
mobile = backwards compatible (tablet next year), timewasters + indie games
PC = backwards compatible, downloadable + indie games

Last-gen:
Wii = return to consoles (previously owned: Mega Drive/CD), IR + motion controls (new play styles)
DS = return to handhelds (previously owned: Gameboy), stylus gameplay (sudoku, picross, etc)
PC = backwards compatible, flash + downloadable games
mobile = timewaster games

2 gens ago:
PC = backwards compatible, PC gaming
mobile = mobile gaming

PS3 - best library this gen. Simple as that.

i always buy my consoles for exclusives. most of the games i play are exclusive

Consoles I own:

PS3: Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Assassin's Creed, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, God of War, Tales of Graces, Heavy Rain, Heavenly Sword, , Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Splitscreen Coop-Games like LEGO, most JRPGs and some other Action-Adventures. I finished over 100 games so far. Great Console.

Wii: Because I grow up with NES/SNES and I decided to own a Nintendo console again after skipping N64 and Gamecube. Basically Virtual Console was a big reason for buying the Wii. Unfortunately I absolutely hate the Wiimote because playing with motion controls feels so dumbed down for me. The first two years I was heavily dissappointed by the Wii. The WiiMote is an awful controller, but the Classic Controller feels great.

Games I finished: Super Mario Galaxy, Silent Hill, Klonoa, Chocobos Dungeon
Games I bought and have yet to play that I will probably like: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Dragon Quest Sword, Zelda Twilight Princess, The Last Story
Games I bought because they got great reviews but I feel that I will dislike them: Xenoblade Chronicles (I heard that it feels like an MMO/WRPG), Metroid Prime (I dislike the first person view)
Games I bought and I did not like: Wii Sports (absolutely no depth in the games and boring after 30 minutes), Wii Play (Boring), Mario Kart Wii (I absolutely loved Super Mario Kart on the SNES, but this game was boring from the start. Maybe its just my problem with the controller. I bought Super Mario Kart on the SNES via Virtual Console instead and had so much more fun), Super Smash Brothers (I somehow like the idea of the game, but the actual game was so boring. I played this game with my wife and two friends, but after only 1 hour it felt so repetitive...).

X360:
I did not buy the X360. Most of the games are multiplatform and I already own the PS3. I have no interest in Kinect (or Motion Controls beside the occasional Railshooter), WRPGS, Online Multiplayer gaming and First Person View games.
Games that I miss out that I would like to play: Final Fantasy XI (I played it on my PC), Tales of Vesperia, Shenmue 2 (I played it on my brothers Dreamcast back then)

Will I buy PS4?
I think so, but not on launch. The Western games concentrate on Online Mulitplayer, Social Gaming and Open World games. There is nothing interesting for me on launch and maybe the first 1-2 years. I will wait for the Japanese Games.

Will I buy Wii U?
I can't decide. I would like to buy it, but I hate the way Nintendo went with its controllers. I just want a normal controller with no gimmicks, no touching and no waggling.... Maybe after a pricecut. Having no trophy system also hurts. But Nintendo is the only one who is not going crazy with forced Multiplayer gaming. They understood that I prefer playing with my wife instead of playing with random strangers on the internet.

Will I buy a Xbox One?
Absolutely no. Microsoft lost my trust with its first Xbox one concept. Deal with it.

My personal opinion about the future of gaming consoles:
I simply want to play with a standard controller and do not need these "innovations" like motion controls, cameras, touchscreens, etc. I simply want to play great singleplayer games (mostly JRPG and Action/Adventure) with a linear story, interesting characters and settings. I prefer splitscreen over online multiplayer and I hate it that singleplayer games have tacked on Mulitplayer modes (Tomb Raider, God of War, The Last of Us, Assassin's Creed, etc.). I do not want Facebook or Twitter connections (or even worse trophies requiring them). I don't want always online and I still want to buy my games in stores.

So, all in all, I have not much interest left in Western Games and my gaming future will be depending on the Japanese developers.

NES: The concept of gaming sounded really interesting.

N64: 3D gaming with four players. (Wasn't very familiar with Nintendo franchises initially.)
GB/C: Pokémon Blue version.

GC: The games first and foremost. The updated graphics also looked very intriguing.
GBA: Pokémon Ruby version.

Wii: The games. Also wanting to try out motion controls. (Massive letdown.)
DS: The games and the tempting touch controls.

Wii U: The games and the Wii U GamePad. (Thus far, the GamePad itself has been the more entertaining part.)
3DS: The games and the interesting 3D screen concept.

Xbox: Halo.
Xbox 360: Halo, Rare titles, third party titles.
