Retail sources have confirmed to CVG that PS4 pre-orders must be placed "before next week" in order to guarantee a system on launch date. That effectively gives consumers an August 5 deadline.

Pre-orders can still be placed thereafter, but may not result in a system on the day of release, as demand is expected to significantly outstrip supply. The deadline will be imposed across the UK, and likely Europe, but circumstances may be different across the US and Japan.

However, retail outlets have also been promised additional units for general sale on day one - meaning those who do not pre-order will still have a chance of buying the system on release day.

People are gonna preorder a few now to resell for more later, I say. I doubt the general reserves will be enough.

edit: it seems yours was buried and it popped up just as i was making mine. 

Makes sense, if the demand is high. My issue is that if there is a low supply, then we could see a lot of reselling on eBay and the like, which is upsetting.

If people are that impatient... they should just preorder now

PS. I bought my ticked for the Brasil Game Show today... R$40,00... for Sunday (27/10)... I tried to get for Monday or Tuesday to avoid long lines to play games but my boss didn't give me the free day from work
