Don't even understand the first part of that. Nintendo will support it regardless of sales just like Gamecube, they have a good slate of games coming.

Gamecube sales >>>> Wii U

For now, perhaps. In the long term? I doubt it.

Unlikely, but a possibility imo. Really depends on the next 18 months. Wouldn't surprise me to se this system doing 6 mill units a year, in fact I struggle to see it ever doing even close to 10m, they just don't have that level of audience to appeal to. Casuals don't want to know and never will, neither will core gamers.

Nintendo´s "Saturn"?

I think if Nintendo plays their cards right from here on out they can maybe push it to a N64 sized userbase (33 million-ish), which wouldn't be so bad.

To get more than that they need some kind of new IP to break out and bring in non-Nintendo fans.

After reading this thread and the others, some people are really happy with this news

Nintendo and PC gamer

these numbers are shipped right? Then why are most media reporting these numbers as sell through numbers?

Because gaming journalism is awful. You only have to look at the coverage of Square's last financials, where everyone reported their expected sales as sold.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

ouchies

I imagine this was like Dreamcast sales in the later half of the year....gamers just waiting for the PS2.....erm I mean the Xbox 1 and PS4.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If WiiU cameback form this it should go in the Guinness world book of records or somethin.

That's below terrible... I never saw anything close with any other console in the history.... 160k quarter in it first year? The work doomed never fits so well.

ASDA stooped to take order from Nintedo, other retails too because 10k is ridiculous for Europe and rest of the world.

I think Wii U can't be saved anymore... that GamePad will be considered the worst decision in the game history.

I could eeasily name 25 worse decisions. Virtual Boy? N64 using cartridges? Power Glove?

Unless you mean as a required part of a console. Then I guess the Kinect in the Xbone could rival it. But for now, indeed it is a pretty bad decision. We shall see if it works in the long run, though.

Not really, MS will have the opinion of dropping Kinect and the X1 will still have an identity. It's not the sole selling point either unlike WiiU with the gamepad.

Dude, half their unveiling used Kinect, what are you talking about?

Yikes! That's terrible. Some people are predicting it will win in 2014 but that is looking unlikely right now.

If you remove Kinect the console is still an attractive deal (would need to knock $100 off) heck people are asking for it without kinect in droves. Xbox One is made up of its power, online, games and Kinect. Wii U is firsty party games and gamepad, and that's it.
