Yet some people still think the wii U will outsell the X1 and PS4 in 2014 lawl

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

But you guys just aren't getting it.  The entire media functionality, from voice commands to hand gestures require kinect.  This functionality is a HUGE part of the Xbox One sell.  There is no way they are going to remove / make optional kinect before launch.

A 180 on DRM policy is one thing, but to completely dicredit the entire APU the system is build around (multi tasking, TV, games, voice command, etc.) would be suicide IMO.

I agree with you but it is not required... you can use the standard control do use everything.

By definition of the word required, I agree.  But realistically, never going to happen.  Its one of their differentiating features for the entire UI.

Btw the 3DS fall is explainable. I think it's due to the 3DS XL release last year. They probably had to ship in July for the August release. I say this because 3DS sales for the quarter are most definitely up (at least in the West). I'm not too worried about it anyways, next 3 quarters should show where the 3DS really is.

Also Wii U still has a chance this holiday season. It really depends how the games sell but I think it will at least have a better first year than the PSV, will probably be close to the 360/PS3's first year. It does have a decent holiday lineup and that's when you get half your sales (Nov+Dec)

But Nov+Dec won't count towards it first year . Unless you mean first full calendar year

Yesss

What does Apr-Jun of 2013 have to do with 2014 sales?

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

What does Apr-Jun of 2013 have to do with 2014 sales?

corelation, look at the ps3 for exemple and how long it took it to be the best seller

And what do PS3 sales have to do with Wii U 2014 sales? I understand the comparison, just fail to see how that automatically means Wii U wont make a comeback in 2014.

And I fail to see what would make it suddendly start selling like hotcakes, if it was doing 90-100k weekly few months after release I would understand the ''wii U got no game'' argument but it's doing 25k and 35k when a big title is release this lead me to believe something is inherently wrong with the console and even when the flag ship titles will come it won't be enough to push it above the competition.

Because there's no historical context in the game business for a turn around that rapid. Even the 3DS in the West is still having a lot of headaches selling to Nintendo's expectations and is no where near what the DS or GBA at similar points in their life cycle. It's still after a $80 price drop, every Mario game Nintendo could throw at it, a revision, etc. the slowest selling Nintendo handheld in the West and really is been carried by the Japanese market.

The PS3 took a good while to really break out after a very slow start, and honestly even though it has recovered, its weak start probably cost them dearly in North America and Japan. In North America the 360 has outpaced the PS3 like 40+ million units vs. 23 million or something, a huge turn around from the PS2 days and in Japan the system has basically hit a wall at 1/2 the PS2's numbers.

First impressions count for a lot, if people categorize your system as a dud or non-event, it's very hard to shake that stigma later on and there's almost always some level of damage done.

and even then the ps3 was selling much better and had great third party support, the problem with ps3 was the price, the problem with wiiu is no body wants it, and i can see why, the orginial wii sold as a motion control machine, that not gonna carry over to people wanting its successor, like the tradional consoles.
