The PS3 took a good while to really break out after a very slow start, and honestly even though it has recovered, its weak start probably cost them dearly in North America and Japan. In North America the 360 has outpaced the PS3 like 40+ million units vs. 23 million or something, a huge turn around from the PS2 days and in Japan the system has basically hit a wall at 1/2 the PS2's numbers. First impressions count for a lot, if people categorize your system as a dud or non-event, it's very hard to shake that stigma later on and there's almost always some level of damage done. |
and even then the ps3 was selling much better and had great third party support, the problem with ps3 was the price, the problem with wiiu is no body wants it, and i can see why, the orginial wii sold as a motion control machine, that not gonna carry over to people wanting its successor, like the tradional consoles.
