Forums - Sales - Nintendo's Wii passes 100m units!

Considering all the high hopes everyone had of it eventually passing PS2 during the early years, this is kind of sad. Still, congrats! It still has a shot of passing PS1, I guess.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

Well done Wii

Great console full of great games and memories. Well done indeed. *tips hat*

Congrats.

Even though I'm unsure if this is true considering they only shipped 99.8m at the end of march. Anyway, the road to beating the PS1 is shorter than it seems to be, the 104.25 number here remains to be incorrect for some reason when Sony's final shipment was 102.49m. Doesn't really matter though, Wii will beat either number, remain this generation's #1 by a fair margin and end somewhere between 105-110m when it's discontinued in a year or two.

Wait a moment,

Does Chartz count GB and GBC as the same handheld?

Yes, Nintendo themselves too. GameBoy Color is to GameBoy what DSi was to DS; a redesign with additional features.

Huge for Nintendo, first home console.

very interesting to see now what it sells lifetime and if it can beat PS1.

Congrats.

Off topic, slightly, but looking at the numbers , the PSP is in line for quite the achievement soon. One of the few systems to surpass 20 million units in each of the three main regions.

As of 13th July it's at 99,786,364 on the global sales chart though?

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

That should be Mega Drive not Genesis, just saying ;)

I'm so tired of combined handheld and home console charts. They're not the same market, their sales shouldn't be combined.

I really don't understand that at all. How are the completely different markets? Same function, same games, but completely different markets? Do you have any data to back that up at all or can you explain your thought process and reasoning a little more? I just dont get why or how anyone could come to that conclussion.
