It's cool, but at the same time kinda pointless. Why even have the tv to begin with. Why not just a projector. Mixing the two just seems silly. Not to mention any game that requires body tracking would be useless as now the kinect faces the wrong direction. And what about a second HDMI to feed the projector?

Really? I find it hard to believe you even watched the video. This blows away everything I have ever seen. I love it and anyone I show is blown away. You are a very small percentage of people that seems to find something negative to say< Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I wonder why?

But he's right, I think what was shown is fantastic, the bit where it maps the surroundings, projects it and manipulates it is the best bit but some other parts were a bit pointless. This is because of the distortion caused by your surroundings, I could hardly tell it was going that at first and when it did the film thing at the end it was nigh on unwatchable, in the case of the films bit a projector is the key if you want a big experience (ignoring the idea that there is a big black box in the middle :P).

And like he says, bit useless if you have a game that has Kinect features in it if it's not watching you.

All this said looking at the video, can you not jsut use the Kinect as a projector? You don't even need a TV.

Hmm, pie.

The TV is needed for 1080p, Sorry to say but I call BS.

This is jealousy.

I don't mind losing 1080p if each Xbone comes with mini projector. Who needs 1080p when you have a 80 inch screen on your wall?

Hmm, pie.

That is simply Bad-ass.
I really liked the snowing effect.

I think if they push this hard, they will have this gen in their hands. People will just buy the xbox one in hopes of getting this some day. I can see people spending money early, so they can buy this later on.

That's a really cool demo, I'm very interested in a better field of view in games, yet I have to wonder if this is actually applicable with consoles, as (big) games for those usually strive to use most of the hardware resources and the Illumni-Room effects definitely don't come for free.

I'm sure it would work very well on PC, because high-end PC gamers do have the necessary processing power and are proven to invest quite a bit in a better gaming experience, so I hope MS does release this for PC.

I don't think this is close to release... Might not even be easy to do this generation... how would they rig all that on the XB ???

or maybe that is what the in out socket next to the Ethernet port on the back of the XB one is for... nobody told me what it was when I asked

but damn if it comes out this gen I better find a new job to finance all my tech needs.... I already want to change my TV and my AVR if I have to buy a projector on top of the XB1 and all the games.... I'll need some extra cash flaw or fuck it I'll skip my vacations :D

that's the IR blaster to control cable boxes which don't support HDMI-CEC with the XB1

maybe an Illumni-room device (I imagine that would be a projector with Kinect tech included) could connect to the dedicated Kinect socket

ah thank you finally someone answered that question :D so wait that means it will work with any cable box with a blaster... will it handle TVs with no CEC either ??? or it is just for the cable box ???
