i have been out of the loop. what type of stuff has DF been doing to disgrace themselves lately?

From what I can tell it's just one guy at DF (Leadbetter) that's causing the commotion. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but he wrote the following:

1. Rumour article about the ESRAM in Xbox1 having 88% faster bandwidth: Misleading title for what appear to be very specific and hypothetical scenarios.

2. The recent article about the OS RAM reservation of PS3: Which other sources have either refuted or shown he got his facts mixed up about 'flexible RAM'.

3. The theoretical comparison article of the GPU in the two consoles where he only takes into account Compute Units and ignores other vital aspects of the chip: The feature is incomplete and sloppy.

I'm sure I'm forgetting one but those are the main ones.

Personally I don't think he's doing any of this on purpose but it's appearing more like he misunderstands the information he has received and isn't the great hardware expert people come to expect of Digital Foundry.

That's really annoying. Saying that it's "absolutely false" without clarifying the truth. It just makes it look like he's hiding something.

'Absolutely false' could easily be some opaque reference to the way in which DF described virtual memory or somethign obscure like that.
