Yeah, 99 was spectacular year for computer gaming (good old times when computer and console gaming had very few things in common).

Alpha Centauri is the only one that has aged very, very well. Even today, every non-Civ 4X bases their gameplay off of SMAC.

Super Smash Bros. is a great 2nd place pick, though.
