Forums - Gaming - will we ever be able to resell digital content?

Will never happen. I think a good idea though would be if there were a points / rewards system in place for buying digital content, whereas for every digital dollar you spend you get x amount of points back that can be used towards future game purchases.

I like that idea

No, because there would be no reason to buy "new" games.

It would only kill the economy.

Im not saying u could go sell Iit anywhere. If u buy a game on PSN and beat it then u can give it back and get a small percentage back as credit for ur next purchase. It would ensure people continue buying digital which would make the company more money.

Hoe would it kill the economy?

They would get less money than if you buy it new, and there would be no reason to buy it new, si every would wait for "used" copies wich are not used as it's digital.

Considering MS originally had a system for selling digital games in place for the X1 before the policy change.....ya, clearly it's doable, and I reckon it's not too far off that it'll become a reality

Actually I was going to say the exact thing.  MS policy in the beginning would allow you to sell, trade, gift and share your game collection.  This actaully still might come to pass based on a tweet by Phil Spencer concering DRM coming back to the X1.  Phil pretty much stated that MS is looking to push digital content the way they described it at E3 and physical disk base games will remain the same.

not until people are ok with something requiring a consistent internet connection

maybe once digital becomes more and more mainstream

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

I find selling digital isht quite pathetic. Still, this is personal and for some of you , it may come in handy.

Ex Graphics Whore.

There would be no incentive to buy the new versions, so no.
Every company doesn't like being undermined, and this would do exactly that.

In the EU, a German court has already ruled that consumers must be allowed to resell digital content.

The services need to catch up with the regulations as the capability exists within the technology already.
