pretty sure preorders for both consoles will be sold out if they aren't yet. I doubt a kinect less bundle will ever come out and I'm almost positive they won't have one for next year, for the reason you said and for the reasons other people pointed out such as, completely undermining the dedication of your fans and early adopters, completely cutting the grass under devlopers that expect the thing to be packed in.... cause real games for kinect will come later than 2014, 2016 IMO will be the sweet spot for good kinect 2 titles other than what already worked on XB360 kinect. but preorders will not be the issue. I'm even starting to think MS is handeling it better than Sony. Cause if MS has less preorder kits availble than sony it doesn't mean they haven't just as much inventory capabilities. they might just chose to have a lower amount of preorder to avoid shortage right of the bat when they release and creating hype and getting customers that are not preordering (which are a majority of the gamers at the end) to buy a XBone because no more PS4 are avaiable during the holliday season. all in all I do not believe kinect less bundel are something that will exist, because it would be better for them to just keep it bundled and cut the price anyway, and preorders won't be an issue either because they'll be either sold out or will surf on the holliday season momentum.
now that said if I'm completely wrong and MS sells 1k console until january things might change but I hardly see that happening

Yeah, you're right, I mispoke. Preorders will be fine, it's the rest of the holiday season that might be affected. *might*
Also, it is possible that MS does actually have 2-3x the inventory. Half the story. It's possible they have 2-3x the inventory *in USA*, which could only amount to 1-2 million more. So kind of a tradeoff most likely. And yes, I agree, preorders =| supply. MS potentially has longer supply, but lower initial preorder.
Don't know which strategy is better. Preorders will make good news, but being in stock during holiday when more expendable money is available could result in better revenue.
