Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Is Apparently Refusing Japanese Indie Developers

A questionnaire from the Games Developer Conference that is currently making the rounds on Twitter in Japan states that Nintendo is not accepting applications from indie developers located in Japan. This has rightfully outraged a number of Japanese indie developers who are asking for an explanation as to why Nintendo is excluding them. “Why, Nintendo, is ‘only Japan’ excluded from individual registration?” asked Japanese indie dev Toshirou Takahashi. ”Seeing ‘No Japs’ written on an international-looking website is such a terrible sight that it makes me weep,” tweeted a Japanese developer from Studio Rice Cake.

Because of 2nd and 3rd party relations apparently.

Genius Sorority and the like. They bigger question is, why not anywhere else? Why just Japan? that's the bigger question.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

I never saw a doujin game on console.

And it's been there for 15 years, so it's not going to change now

A dupe, apparently. Although not reported by NintendoPants, THANKS A LOT.

Locking.
