Going off the above dates, I'm pretty sure that FFXVI has been in development for a good few years now. Chances are that it started pre-production as far back as 2007 or 2008.

Final Fantasy XII director is most definitely on it. It's a top secret project that no one has heard about yet, not even top FF employees. You can be damn sure he's working on XVI.

well that would be fucked up. since they already have THREE announced final fantasy games. i mean come on, this is fucking nonsense, imagine an uncharted 4, uncharted online and uncharted 5 being announced at the same time. i dont know WTF is up with square enix, but they will die if they continue down this road

Its totally obvious! The prophecy of Agni is Final Fantasy 16. At the end of the trailer it acknowledges it as a Final Fantasy game.

Is it just me or does this user make the same thread with the same info every time? SE has told us many times the next FF is ALWAYS in development sometimes up to 3 games ahead. Its not the surprise/mystery you make it out to be.

I agree with you. FFXVI is definitely already in development. It's also very likely that the FFXII and The Last Remnant team are the ones developing it, as they've been MIA for years now.

Actually, I think FFXVI was in development even years before Agni's Philosophy. I'd say it started in 2007 or 2008. Agni's Philosophy started in 2011.

If it has then its probably changed shape about 100 times after the failures of ff13.
