Payday 2 developer David Goldfarb discusses the FPS preference of the Xbox.
Published on Jul 19, 2013 The original Payday never came out on Xbox 360, which is unusual considering the preference of shooters on the platform. But is Overkill Software aware of this? Is it something the team is having to work around? David Goldfarb believes the Xbox culture of shooters won't affect the switch. "Yeah, and I think – if I can say this without getting into trouble – I think there’s more of a shooter culture on Xbox than there is on PlayStation," said Goldfarb. "I mean that in the primary titles on Xbox are shooters, I don’t think you can say the same is true for Sony that I can think of. So it made a lot of sense from that perspective." But why is Xbox so shooter-centric? "I couldn’t really say, I think a lot of it is just control scheme," said Goldfarb. "Now I think the controllers, on both sides, are good. But I think historically there’s was a larger portion of people playing shooters on Xbox, but I couldn’t say why, though. "Yes, there is an American demographic that likes shooters, but for us, in the end, it’s a platform and it’s cool." In a recent interview with IGN, PS4 creator is well aware of the PlayStation's diversity. He even used it as an example of what the PlayStation identity is, but whether that's a good thing or not will depend largely on your personal outlook.

I thought that was pretty much crystal clear to pretty much everyone.
