Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Empire - New thread up soon!

I think it was a good decision for MS to buy Gears. The franchise is already massive. Hopefully they can keep the gameplay fresh and really push it to reach its potential.

On the other hand i really hope MS does not cancel any new IP's they had in the works. I was really expecting a lot of new IP's last E3 and this E3 but so far MS and Sony have been playing it safe. Probably for the better for now?

Game i am most looking forward to is probably Thief..was hoping Driveclub would come out in Feb as that looks like a lot of fun but who knows whats happening there.

This year is looking pretty bland imo...if you not into Titanfall or Infamous. Thats why we need some fresh new IP's with different artstyles and radical changes in gameplay. Last gen was particularly bad when it came to game diversity on consoles. Hopefully this gen they can rectify that.

Well guys you all were right. Really liking Tales of Vesperia so far :)

Yeah, I started it yesterday. I knew I was going to like it because I've watched a partial playthrough on Youtube and played the demo about a dozen times, but it's even exceeding my expectations. It's making me really sad that Microsoft didn't to keep the series on the 360. I really hope Microsoft conivnces Namco Bandai to at least go multiplat when the first next-gen Tales releases.

It reminds me a lot of Ni No Kuni.  Was realyl surprised how good the artstyle is too

I only read a few books.  The book between Gears 2-3 and the one about Dom's Brother Carlos.  Or maybe i read 3?  Cant remember which book was about the event leading up to the hammer.

Anyways im not sure what they'll do with it.  Gears certainly isnt the easiest franchise to continue after 3 but that is what i want lol

Oh for me its Garden Warfare btw. Me and my friends are all getting it. I already have mine pre-ordered xD

Yeah, it is like Ni No Kuni in alot of ways, they have similar overworld design for instance. I like the Tales series' more traditional anime artstyle more than Ni No Kuni's Studio Ghibli animation style though.

So far i prefer Ni No Kuni's artstyle but i like Tales story more.

What do you think about the combat? I liked the Pokemon style catch' em all aspect to the familiars in Ni No Kuni, but the combat itself was too slow placed and simple imo. Tales combat seems better to me, though I hear that Tales of Graces has a better combat system than Vesperia (fortunately the next Tales, Tales of Zestiria has Graces' combat designer. I really wish Zestiria was coming to 360).

Ehh, not a fan of either's combat personally.  They are ok but nothing that i truly look forward to.

When it comes to RPG gameplay nothing compares to pokemon in my opinion.  SOOOOO many options and the online gives you a real challenge.

I enjoyed persona though, but really i play those games for their story rather than gameplay.
