But isn't this was advertisement is? You see it all the time in ads and commercials, where they talk up their product. They are being paid to talk positive about a product. This seems a little underhanded how they worded it though and their specifications, but different ends to the same means.

Similar the only issue i have with it is that they are not allowed to make the viewers aware that they were paid. It needs to comes across as a legitimate positive impression. But other than that yes this is the very same as advertisement..

Can somebody tweet Phil Spencer and ask him if we'll be seeing something 360-related for this year E3 or they're focusing entirely on the Xbox One?

I don't really play Xbox 360 games anymore (although I'm starting to play them more since there's still some stuff I want to play on it) but I was wondering what Tales of Vesparia is like (how does it play, which game is it most like) and if it would be worth me getting.

Vesperia* :P

Ever played any other Tales before? Uhhh, Eternal Sonata?

In any case, there's a sweet demo if you're not sure.

Tales of Vesperia (much like the rest of the Tales Of games) is an JRPG based on a real-time combat system, on which you are teleported to a battleground and have direct control over your characters (though you only maneuver with one of them, up to you). You can attack by pressing B, but here's the catch: regarding the direction you're pushing on the stick, your character will do a different attack. Stick Up + B is different than Stick right + B.

The Artes (The magic, for starters), are done in the same vein, and those are powerful attacks that cost "mana".

The story is simple, yet interesting (it falls into JRPG clichés, but mixed through political dramas and certain other things that make it stand out). You have a nice group of characters (except for the GODDAM KID, CHILDREN IN JAPANESE GAMES ARE ANNOYING), and you have plenty of things to do. There's also a fully explorable world map.

Tales of Vesperia is one of my favourite games of the seventh gen. I need to add, it is also one of the very few 360 games to offer four player offline co-op. Your buddies can take control over the other characters during combat sequences :P

Whats your guys thoughts on the whole paying for positive impressions thing on Youtube?

Overblown as most things game related is. Especially when MSFT is involved.  Is it right that MSFT did this?  No, but i dont care either. Advertisement isnt something i really care about too much.  Sometimes there is good ads and sometimes there is bad ads, we the consumers can judge if it is good or bad as we always have. The dirty part is that some people wont realize it is an ad, but as a person we should still know where to put our trust.  Do i really trust what this person is sayin?  Its like when an actor endorses a product publicly.  We dont know if they got paid to say that or not so it matters if we trust them or not. YouTube has basically become a form of media, and should and will continue to be treated as acting and entertainment.

The things that always amazed me about the console wars is the hypocrisy you will see. People flip flop around based off of their preferences rather than give their honest opinions.

Example would be the same people criticizing MSFT would likely not be if it was their preferred company doing the same.  There is examples of this happening in the industry time and time again.

Forums has become political and it is one of the things that annoys me the most about these websites.  The everyday gamer doesnt really care about these things but the ones that takes this stuff seriously........Yeah.

Oh that sounds pretty good actually. For JRPG's I only really like them if they have fully real time battles or totally turn based, I'm not a fan of FF13/-2's battle system and I hated how Star Ocean played so as long as it's not like that then chances are I'll enjoy it. Come to think of it though one of the big reasons why I didn't like Dragon Age was because you could switch between characters...for some reason I just don't like to do that(probably due to OCD). So that may be a drawback for me in regards to playing Tales of Vesperia.

I think I'll download the demo and give it a try though. Thanks for the pretty in-depth explanation of the game

Just beat the last story mission in Sleeping Dogs, excellent game, I'm glad that Microsoft added it to Games for Gold this month. I'm definitely excited for Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars now, can't wait to play it on my Xbox One.

I hope Microsoft adds something as good as Sleeping Dogs to Games for Gold in February. This month they added that Tomb Raider arcade game, presumably to get people hyped for Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Xbox One, I wonder if they'll do something similar in February, maybe adding Deus Ex: Human Revolution to Games For Gold in order to promote Eidos Montreal's Thief on Xbox One, or perhaps Plants vs. Zombies to get people hyped for Garden Warfare on Xbox One.

Ah, thank you for reminding me! I don't have my 360 hooked up currently, so I tend to forget about the Games for Gold promotion. I need to download that and get Tales of Veperia on sale next time I go on my 360.

Yeah, def one of the best the industry has and very intelligent.  I like the general way he presents himself and how explains himself
