Microsoft's strategy for the major territories other than US an UK should be something like: Europe -Price should be kept 50 or more Euros below PS4 throughout the generation, and keeping at least 1 game bundled with Xbox One is a very good idea as well -MS should try and acquire some established studios from mainland Europe that have already released games that sell fairly well in Europe. Remedy would be a start, but I've heard they don't want to be bought, so MS should at least try to keep them in the 2nd party camp, releasing only on Xbox One and possibly PC. They should also found a new AAA 1st party studio in mainland Europe, and try to attract talent from other popular mainland European studios. -Use 3rd party marketing deals effectively, advertise them well and make sure that these games are bundled for a good price. This is especially important for FIFA, that deal is kind of a waste considering the way that MS currently handles it. -Hire better marketing teams across Europe. I hear so many stories about how bad Microsoft's advertising is in Europe, especially Germany. Japan -Found a 1st party studio in Japan. Even a small 30 or so person studio would be better than nothing. Later, if this studio's games do well, it can be expanded, and a 2nd 1st party studio could possibly be opened. -Get at least 1 big Japanese exclusive, and a few medium popularity exclusives. 360 received this much support, there's no good reason for Xbox One to not receive it as well. -The objective in Japan shouldn't be to compete with Sony and Nintendo, as that is just foolish, it'll never happen. The objective should be to build a small-medium sized lasting fanbase in Japan, something that can last throughout multiple future generations. Japanese devs see this new fanbase, they'll realize they're missing out on a decent sized chunk of sales by not releasing on Xbox One. More Japanese devs going multiplat can only be a good thing, as there are fans of Japanese games worldwide that currently see PS4 as the better alternative. China and Korea -MMO's are all the rage here, RTS games are pretty popular in Korea as well from what I hear. MS already has a partnership with Perfect World, one of the biggest Chinese publishers and MMO developers. They should also make a partnership with NCSOFT, one of the biggest Korean publishers and MMO developers. Pretty much if an Eastern MMO is releasing on PC, it should also release on Xbox One in these territories, and MS should try to get more westerm MMO's on Xbox One as well, as manywestern MMO's are popular in China and Korea as well. MS should also try and get a few MMO exclusives this generation. MS really should reconsider a Halo MMO, both Halo and MMO's are popular in China, sounds like a system seller to me. MS also needs to bring back Age of Empires and Halo Wars, make sure that both games are on Xbox One, since RTS games are popular in Korea apparently.
