Apparently somebody made a listing on Amazon with the PS4 being $89.99.  Becayse Walmart has a policy that says they will match prices if you find cheaper somebody took a picture of it an showed it to walmart.  They bought the PS4 at Walmart for $89.99.  Because somebody reported on this the mass caught on and started doing the same thing and in return people on amazon were trying to buy the fake listings boosting PS4 by 1400% because Amazon tracks third party sellers as well.  It was #15 on 11/17/2014 on amazon.  Now it is listed at #1 on amazon which hasnt done that since the launch of PS4.  Amazon continues to take down the fake listings but people continue to make them.

Its not all gamers though, so far its only happening with the PS4 ;)

It happened a little bit with XBO as well, just not to the same scale and its also stopped for XBO for the time being

Did it? Sigh, people... I haven't noticed it with the Xbox One yet, but I still see the $89.99 one for PS4 at the moment. I wonder how Amazon or other retailers will respond to this.

Yeah, I've seen a few pics of people's receipts from Walmart with the $89.99 price honored. Its amazing they were able to get employees to accept it. I'll try to find a pic.

you can basically then just do this with any item out there without penalties.  

oh well, wal-mart's loss, I guess.  and that's a hefty loss as well.

As i said it wasnt to the same scale.  It also didnt last very long where as the PS4 has been going on since yesterday noon.

I dont know why Amazon just doesnt shut down third party sellers for Ps4 until they find a way to resolve it because im sure theyre annoyed with having to constantly remove them.  It makes amazon look bad too as im sure customers are calling in complaining about this
