Pretty awesome post xD

Feel free to put it in one of the opening posts so that newcomers to the thread know what games are releasing on the Xbox One in the future, if you want to.

Real talk, right now and especially in the past few months the XBONE has been in a bad situation. Microsoft realised this when they did their 180s. It means it's very unlikely for the next Halo to redefine the franchise. Right now what they need is a Halo 3 2.0. A classic game that gets all the old fans to buy the system. They'll take risks with the next game.

Im not so certain that XBO has been in near as bad of a situation as people on forums made it out to be.  Plus Microsoft has been gearing up with first party developers for multiple years, not just the last 6 months.  Same goes with Halo. The DRM turnaround very likely didnt effect 343i what so ever. The 180's to this day are little over exagerated after the moment they took down DRM.

I dont mind if they take risks with the game but they need to stay true to the halo fanbase as well.

I agree. It wasn't so bad, sure seems like some companies figured they would lose out - and lose their companies, to they faught back.  Then other company(s) took advantange and made the most of the situation.  And there is still plenty of DRM - it's just back on the disk - as it is in other consoles.  For most people the daily check in would be fine, but I think they did need an ofline mode to make it work for the rest of their fans, and the times you know your internet will be down.

Plus some of the people making the histerics just hate Microsoft.  It doesn't matter what they do - they could feed every starving person on the planet, and they would still find a way to hate it.  (Sure - Mirosoft feeds them today - but what about tomorrow! Just gong to let them die!!?)

And there are editors that don't like Microsoft.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Ummm, Phil Spencer said they don't own a studio in Osaka?....Unless his lying I guess Microsoft Osaka Studios isn't real

That's strange.  They showed Microsoft Osaka at the Xbox One Unvieling unless they changed the name of it which is possible, like they did with Black Tusk Studios.  Still that is strange either way.  Who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯ There is even pics of it though and the people who designed it has it on their page.

And the people who designed the Studio http://www.shawcontractgroup.com/Html/ShowProjectProfile/PP_Microsoft

Without the 180s the XBONE was DOA. It's hard to argue otherwise. I'm not saying the DRM turnaround effected 343, but that the the thought processes behind the 180s did. You can see a perfect example of this with Titanfall becoming a lifetime exclusive. Microsoft will do whatever it can to "save" the system. That includes pushing a traditional Halo instead of taking risks.

this was months ago when it was taken down and TitanFall was an exclusive before DRM was taken down.  There was never any confirmation of it being a timed exclusive otherwise.  A business(not only MSFT) are going to do what is in their best interest to set them up for a strategic victory so if that means buying TitanFall then that is what they're going to do.  DRM has nothing to do with that.  Microsoft buys third party exclusives more than any other company simply because they can, and simply because it gives them an advantage.

Third party exclusives and first party exclusives really arent much different.  You pay a company to build a game for you and to keep it away from competitors for an advantage.

The turnaround or 180 (singular)  considering on what words you want to use and Halo have nothing to do with each other in any shape or form.  Games were already in developement before the turnaround and Halo 4 has already taken a risk and by playing it you should know this.  It also sold extremely well but the multiplayer crowd didnt stay as long as they did in older games.  That is the part that 343i will need to figure out, nothing to do with it being bad, turnarounds, or with the story.  The multiplayer just wasnt as addicting as it was when halo 3 came out, partially because more competition now.

Halo set the world on fire and became the premier multiplayer FPS and story FPS.  Since then it has gotten competition with Battlefield and Call of Duty.  Each game plays differently and unique to their own but it also has split the multiplayer from Halo in ways.

To add to that the Halo community did not like 343i adding instant respawns and ordinance drops.  This changed halo up a lot which is what they need to fix.

EDIT:  Just letting you know that Im not trying to be harsh with you, i just see you as wrong on this one is all.  You're a preet cool guy in my book :)

I wasn't planning to respond since I just seem to be the odd man out on all of this, but I can't resist a good old :)

Titanfall was confirmed by the developers themselves to be a timed exclusive. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with buying Titanfall. What's interesting is that Microsoft thought being a timed exclusive was enough, and then went back to buy the rest of it. The reversal of always online DRM and the other 180s are in a similar boat. Microsoft thought something was "good enough" but quickly changed it. They are far from clueless and realised things needed to be done.

When you're in that sutuation and know it, you don't take your largest ip and mix up the formula. They have only said a Halo is coming at 60fps. We don't know anything else. It could be Halo Wars 2! I personally loved the first, but everyone should find that idea insane. When your system is potentially going to need all the help it can get next Novemeber, you just wouldn't do that. Heck it could be Halo Spartan Assult 2. Similarily if the game was Halo Universe with an open world borderlands style, you just don't do that. Even if it includes normal Halo multiplayer, it would still be looked at as a spinoff like Halo Wars or Spartan Assault. Microsoft needs the full streangth of the ip and remesh it into Halo 5, even if it was originally going a different direction.
