Then again, Inquisition isn't a pure RPG either, it's an action-RPG, but it's still more of an RPG than Shadow of Mordor.

Uhm....what exactly is a "pure" RPG? Turn based? Cus I hardly think that defines an RPG.

DA let's you create your own character, build him/her in all the classic RPG archtypes, influence the story in major ways resulting in different questlines and endings, build your own party of characters with varying builds, form relationships with your followers, and so on......

It has everything an RPG is supposed to have.

Do we know anything about the story of DA ? Does it require to know the previous two games story to understand what's going on? If not I'll probably give Dragon Age another chance.

They said they'll ease new players into the story by giving them a clear objective at the beginning, and then explain the lore as the game progresses.

Ugh, I'd rather play the previous games then. Which I don't want to do since I've already tried both games several times and just couldn't get into either of them.

Holy shit dude... 3 minutes in and that presentation looks absolutely phenomenal! If it didn't have the EA Sports logos it would be difficult to decipher betweent hat in real life from a casual POV. Just watched the gameplay... very fluid, seems very engaging, and the commentary seems better as well. Along with the crowd reactions. Massive step up! Everything just felt more natural. Would have like to seen more ground game and the submission system like you said! Game's really impressing me! I hope they put that same amount of dedication into NHL 15 (they probably won't).

There are obviously story elements from the first two games that will play a major role in what happens in 3, and enrich your experience if you know them, but I think it will definitely still be a great starting point for people who haven't gotten into the other 2. It helps that each Dragon Age game has always focused on a brand new protagonist rather than keeping the dsame figure central throughout, so it's mostly the state of affairs in the world as you leave them in the other games that's really important to know. Most of the key points can be summed up relatively quickly I'd say.

Tell you what, if I win this bet I'll put Slade's offered funds towards your copy of the game

Well, a poor college student like myself needs every freebie he can get, lol. If you win the bet though do that if you want I won't hold you to it though xD.

Sword Art Online II? OMG how am I just now hearing about it?

Thinking I'm going to have to change my mind and give Shadow of Modor a chance after all. -_-
