Ok so im going to compare the gaming times from 2004 and 2013. 

2004:

Many people including someone named informa said how PS3 was going to outsell the Xbox 360 3 to 1. obviously that didnt happen. EA thought the PS3 was going to outperform the Xbox 2 ( thats what they called it back then) cause of the CELL Processor, they were REALLY wrong. people didnt even think the PS3 was gonna have 2 versions , many also saw that the PS3 was gonna get alot of games exclusive, like GTA 4, Doom 3.

     As you can the PS3 didnt outsell the Xbox 360,  it didnt outperform the Xbox 360 ( not at first), the PS3 did have 2 versions, and alot of games came to Xbox 360 as well.

2013:

Developers and crtics are saying the PS4 is going to outsell the Xbox ONE 3 TO 1, and that the system is going to perform better. the only difference from 204 and 2013, is that Devs say the console is ACTUALLY easy to work with.

what im trying to say is that we are not sure how things will go down until they do, so we shouldnt even be making these predictions, cause some of them could be TOTALLY wrong.

2013: Same year as release, one console released, all revealed.

No. There needs to be predictions. And not (only) for the discussion factor, but to laugh at them when they are so wrong it's hard not to laugh. (If those predictions aren't your own, to be exact.)

There is another most important difference: Price favorises the PS4 this time.

I know enough that I'll be getting both PS4 and Xbox One.

2004 gamers did not know the ps3 price.
Price and games lineup, and third party support were the three pillars that were not available as information in 2004, and did not help the console until mid 2008.
This time, we know pretty much everything.

2004 was 2 years away from launch.
Right now is 4 months away from launch.

We know basically everything there is to know, and yes, we can make a much more informed prediction. Almost all third parties are on board, and some of the ones who aren't have implied xboxone timed exclusivity, not total exclusivity.

We know price, we know lineup, we know third party support, we know specs, we know >75% of the policies of both consoles, we know peripherals, we know specifically how many ips, and we'll know even more very soon.

The New consoles from Sony and MS are basically cheap PC's, so we know how they'll perform. We really have no idea how they will sell, along with Wii U.

PS4/X1 - we know prices, some games, specs.
