And she has no genuine interest in gaming? Typical corporate executive.

How do you know that?

3. She Shook Things Up for Windows

Microsoft saw very sluggish sales and poor reception for Windows Vista, and after her successes with Office, Larson-Green was transferred over to help reorganize the Windows team.

According to an interview in The Telegraph from 2009. Larson-Green made fundamental changes to the engineering structure for Windows 7's creation, preventing engineers from being siloed off and making them interact with technologies that complimented their own projects. What Xbox fans should learn from this is that while Larson-Green hadn't worked on operating systems before Windows' launch, she adapted to her new surroundings quickly.

"I'd been working on Office and had never worked on an operating system before. I spent a lot of time learning about the market, the challenges, the people on the team," she told the The Telegraph.

This is the best bit, if she can have no OS/Windows experience and then come out with Windows 7, it's evident she can do wonders with no specific background experience.

Absoutely nothing suggests she cares or knows anything more about gaming than Don Matrix. And that's not much.

Look at her path in the company. It's all related to leadership and different divisions, typical corporate stuff but without any expertise in the field they put her in.

She might be a superb executive and knows how to lead people and run a business. But the negative thing with a leader that has no passion in its own products is that MS will remain out of touch with the market. We won't see any change in them trying to understand the market better or trying to earn longevity and trust among the people like Sony does.

In concrete terms this means Xbox will continue to jump on the latest bandwagon while implementing features nobody really cares about, and meanwhile sticking to the strategy of only focusing on a few key blockbuster titles, while the competition will work long-term continuing to build a genuine reputation, and a broad and sophisticated lineup of games.

Except the actual evidence we have is that they're doing the opposite in a lot of respects and have opened many new studios that are doing smaller games. Project Spark being one of them, and bringing back old IP like Zoo Tycoon. We've yet to see games from many of those studios but don't instantly dismiss them Slime.

MS Dakota - Poject Spark
MS Victoria - Unknown
MS Osaka - 2 projects, 1 JRPG
Black Tusk - Stealth Action
Lift London - 4 XBLA games

Also hiring third party's to work on franchises like Zoo Tycoon, Killer Instinct and ect is great. They're both diverse.

Yeah I don't have fool proof evidence but I try to learn from history. I lost all my faith in their ability to understand and deliver.

I can see why a lot of people think that way, it's up to MS over the next few years to right that wrong and I agree if they knew they were in this for the long haul they should have 'set up home' as it were, a little better.

Still, when MS wants to put out an amazing line up, they've proven they can.

you don't need to know or care about gaming to be an excellent top exec in a gaming branch of company.... hell to be a good top exec of any company you don't need to know or care about there business to become an excellent key figure in the said company.... we are not talking about doing gaming reviews on IGN or be a sales rep a gamestop here.....
those are high end business position that require skills that are not especially relevant to the core activity of the division.....
