Ok so Bayo 2 on the horizon, and I've been hearing people wanting a port of Bayo 1 on the WiiU.
WiiU ports of previous 360/PS3 games did terribly, and you don't really see people buying the original game when the sequel is on the horizon. It's like saying that the annoucement of a new upcoming COD will get people to buy previous entries. No, if people are looking to get into the series, they will start with the upcoming one, because people assume that "newer is better".
Really, the audience for this kind of port is small we are looking for people that
-Have not played the 1st one and have a WiiU and can't get into a game without playing the previous entries and has not played in on 360/PS3
Or
-People that have already played Bayonetta on their 360/PS3 and would buy an enhanced version, will and have already purchased a WiiU for Bayo 2
Or
-People that would've gotten Bayo 2 anyways and have no problem not playing the previous entry but still interested in it and may buy it before Bayo 2 to get caught up or after they really liked Bayo 2 and wanted to buy the previous entry.
How many people really fall into these categories? Besides, if released to close to each other, they might cannabalize each other's sales. Just thinking that rather than spending $$ on a port like this, Nintendo is better off putting that $$ towards marketing Bayo 2
