Forums - General Discussion - YOUTUBE BUFFERING WTF

To me it feels like it changes from one video to the other, some play smooth, some play choppy and keep buffering forever.

Maybe it is a server/priority issue how youtube handles the videos

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

It's weird. Youtube loads choppy, but porn videos are always super smooth. Anyone experience this?

On my phone though, Youtube always loads perfectly.

Yup. On other websites I can watch 1080p streams without any problem, but youtube sometimes even has problems with 360p on my PC. :/

Youtube is fucked. It worked perfectly a few years ago, and you could even load the whole video before playing. Now you can't even skip ahead EVEN IF you've loaded that part already. It will need to load again.

Definitely.

Maybe YouTube is going through that "Britney Spears phase" where it starts off pretty well, then goes down hill, then explodes, then comes back as something none of us actually thought would come back.

My one complaint with Youtube is their app.
You can't turn the screen off. What ends up happening is I put it in my pocket, and buttons get hit randomly, stopping the video, or going back into a different video...
It's really annoying.
Such a simple feature. Some people don't care to watch the video, they just want the audio. You'd think that would be an option given the number of specific audio videos on YT. Monologues and meditation, for example.

I don't like that sometimes it chooses 144p for me and other times it chooses 480p. Its annoying! I also hate that if I forward it a bit it sometimes gives me an error message.

It's YouTube. Depending on what sever the video is on, and if its loaded with people watching stuff that video will suffer. There's nothing wrong with your net or computer. It auto selects the res depending on the download rate to their servers. It picks lower ones 'cause your gonna have a bad connection. Unless YouTube brings back the buffer while paused option. This won't go away.
