Forums - Gaming - EA Confirm Xbox One & PS4 games pricing (54.99 Pounds Sterling)

I wouldnt read into this to much. games rrp is 37-39 pounds and I bet that wont change. They say rrp is 49 pounds now but I have never seen a game on sale for anywhere near that at launch. mind you I only check zavvi, the hut, etc never looked at game

Haha. Good luck with that EA. Hahah.

55 quid?
I'd worry if I bought EA games at any price. Good luck with that, EA.

Didnt EA say they were focusing more on tablets and smartphones? I wonder how much they charge for mobile games.

I guess it is the RRP and the actual price will be significantly lower. The prices in the UK are very high anyway.

what?  many europeans (and i believe even aussies) buy their games in uk online stores because games are cheaper in uk

@topic

let's see if rrp for games in rest of europe will increase as well or only the uk price to do something against millions of game sales from uk to other countries because of the cheaper price...

but i think prices in uk will be still cheaper as in france, germany and so on even if only uk will get an increase in  prices.

When I was importing I seen a vast difference in RRP from different websites. Far below the MSRP even on launch day.

I guess retail games at launch will be around £45/£49

Typically at launch is this is normal. I think at he beginning of the ps3/360 life, games RRPs were £49.99 (and they still are), so this appears to be a £5 increase.

RRP in the UK for games at the moment is 49.99. I have never paid that much for a game. Games usually retail between 35-40 pounds. Shops dont take no notice of them. With that said, EA do tend to have the more expensive games. 45 pounds for certain titles. Some RPG's can be really expensive.

Markets tend to sell popular new games for like 32 pounds to try and undercut the game stores. I aint gonna complain.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I have a US account so I  mainly compare to them. The price difference between them is crazy, so I guess the difference between the mainland Europe and the US is insane :).

£55? You serious EA?

For comparison, I bought Dream Team today for £29, and The Last of Us was £37. Anything over £50 is suicidal, and even that is really pushing it.

Hopefully it won't be the same for other devs, because of multiplat games cost £10 more on the next gen systems than their current gen counterparts, it could hurt the short term success of the system.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
