well i figured in his old age he has grown wise and realised his NIntendo children have grown old too. Give one to the fans from the last 20 years or so.

I am one of those fans, and I'd prefer not to be patronised.

If it's 2014 it'll probably be late 2014, so we might not see it until E3 next year.

It'll be Watoad Adventures.

LOL

@OP: 2014 could be quite a year for Nintendo if this mystery game launches along with Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Bayonetta 2, etc. I wonder what type of game it could be...Miyamoto's done shooter, platform, racer, action-adventure, sports, simulation, and RTS. Maybe he'll make a 3D action game that uses mechanics similar to Scribblenauts? The main character can conjure up items that allow him/her to defeat enemies, avoid traps, etc.

I'm sure it will be great no matter what :)

Ahh, this brings back memories of when I played my first Mario game... There's something magical about this guy's games, I'm really excited for this new title (:

I'd want to see a Nintendo survival horror but that's very unlikely...

I just don't want another Platformer...they are fun but Nintendo has enough of them.

Technically, Nintendo does own (at least part of) the Fatal Frame franchise, but aside from a remake/port of Fatal Frame 2, Fatal Frame 4 on the Wii and the 3DS AR spin off Spirit Camera, they haven't done as much as a fan would hope with it.

I just hope it´s not a new casual game like WiiFit or Wii Music or something bizarre like that...

He said "for the fans" so I doubt it.

Miyamoto would probably count people that play the more casual games as fans. If anything, the casual games are more his particular type of game these days, since he wants stuff that older (like himself) and younger people (like his grandkids I'd suspect by now) can play without too much hassle.

Just like Steel Diver, the game that saved the 3DS.

Just wait for the sequel...Steel Diver 2: The Search for More Levels.

Nice to hear. Looking forward to hearing more (even though I'm not a Wii U owner)

Hmmm, it's best to be skeptical, while Miyamoto has created some very iconic franchises in his younger days, his latest franchises just don't compare, below are his latest NEW console franchises:-

-Wii Sports
-Wii Music
-Wii Fit
-Nintendo Land

Anyone expecting a new franchise in the vain of Pikim, Zelda, or Mario may be heavily disappointed. I reckon we'll see something in vain of his last creations, something that appeals to the casuals, but of course I can be wrong.

Until the game his working on has been revealed, I suggest all here should be pessimistic, cuz if it's just another Wii muisc, the hurt in your heart will be much much less, but if he delivers a Zelda like new franchise then your excitement and hype will be that much bigger.

Have no faith, remain skeptical and make your decision proper when the information is presented....just saying.

FPS or gtfo.

I don't expect it to be a Mario/Zelda type of adventure title. He's 60+ years old now, I think those franchises basically filled that ambition for him, it'll probably be something quirky and off-beat or intended for the "expanded audience" (ie: Wii Music).

Guess it will be a NFC game.
