So recently I made another thread about HD Collections on the Wii U and I said they would need multiple discs, well someone set me straight and told me the Wii U discs actually hold 25GB of memery per layer, I looked it up and sure enough he was right.  I keep up to date on video game news regularly, but tbh I had no idea the Wii U discs held so much memory, since they weren't blu ray I just assumed they were regular dvds like the orginal Wii had.  Knowing this does this change your stance on the Wii U at all, to me it makes me obviously more inclined to buy a Wii U, because this gives a higher chance of HD Collections of classic Nintendo games and it gives a higher chance of third party support if the Wii U starts selling well.  What do you guys think?

Edit:  Looks like everyone knew except me lol.

While Metroid Prime Trilogy was awesome, I'm highly disappointed we're getting a Wind Waker HD and not a Zelda HD collection (WW, TP, SS) which is what it really ought to be.    Aside from Metroid and Zelda, I can't think of any franchises I'd care to see redone in HD personally (I mean Mario Sunshine/Galaxy/Galaxy 2 or Kirby or Fire Emblem collection or such would all be nice but I wouldn't consider buying them again for HD).  Unless they did an Eternal Darkness, Xenoblade, The Last Story HD collection.  Or Fatal Frame or Endless Ocean HD collections but all those seem extremely unlikely.

New Super Mario Bros Wii was only 360MB. You could fit it on a PS1 CD... twice.

how the hell did I not know about this? XD

There's some really interesting ones there.

Wii Sports is bigger than NSMBWii.

Punch-Out, Donkey Kong Country, and Kirby's Epic Yarn are each bigger than Mario Galaxy.

Wii Fit Plus is bigger than Mario Galaxy 2.

Skyward Sword is 4 times bigger than Twilight Princess.

Non to very few of the games will ever use 25GB.

It would be useful for next gen 3rd party titles (if you wii U recieves any), but I would much rather play 3rd party titles on the PS4, so no, its not much of + point for me. If the Wii U was able to graphically compete with the other next gen consoles, I would have already bought one by now.

Had not idea. Does the Wii U play DVD's? Or is Nintendo still being stubborn with that sort of thing?

I guess they dont like to pay royalties to their competitors :S

I'm ignorant in specs and all that tech talk, but this does not suprise me. One has a big wasteland as hub world while the other one has 3 full charged sections with lot of gameplay.
