EDD revenue increased $134 million, or 8%, primarily due to higher Windows Phone revenue, offset in part by lower Xbox 360 platform revenue.

·         Windows Phone revenue, reflecting patent licensing revenue and sales of Windows Phone licenses, increased $222 million.

·         We shipped 1.0 million Xbox 360 consoles compared to 1.1 million during the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2012.

EDD operating income increased $142 million, due mainly to higher revenue.

In June 2013, we announced that we expect our next generation console, Xbox One, will be available for purchase in the second quarter of fiscal year 2014.

So how do these numbers look?

Was it what people were expecting?

9.9m for the year (1.7m / 5.9m / 1.3m / 1.0m, July-Sept 12', Oct-Dec 12', Jan-Mar 13', Apr-Jun 13')

1 Million 360's is pretty good. Im guessing the new Slim helped a bit.

~78.2 Million shipped lifetime? Correct me if Im wrong.

We have it at ~77.8 Million units sold at the end of June - http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/41455/Global/

$4.97 billion NET profit. In line with their usual 5 billion every 3 months.

I get to only say this 4 times a year: My god is better then yours

360 shipping 1.0 million as opposed to 1.1 one year ago.........that is amazing how MS is able to coast with 2008 prices.

2013: 12 months Profit of $848m, (profit of $380m 2012). 360 is definetely a success where it counts.

2013 Qtr4:3months to June loss of 110m (loss of 252m same quarter last year)

very good.

So thats where the lack of price cuts are going. Good for them, bad for us fans in the forums lol

I have about 78m. At work, so I don't have my records, but Microsoft cites about 55m through June 2011, and have shipped about 23m since then.

http://www.microsoft.com/investor/EarningsAndFinancials/Earnings/SegmentResults/EntertainmentAndDevicesDivision/FY11/Q4/performance.aspx

Trend is definitely down though.

  Year Ends on June 30th
MS FY 10'-11' 11'-12' 12'-13'
Q1 2.80 2.30 1.70
Q2 6.30 8.20 5.90
Q3 2.70 1.40 1.30
Q4 1.90 1.10 1.00
  13.70 13.00 9.90

Calendar year 2013 is probably on pace for 8.5m X360s shipped, with the July 2013 to June 2014 year coming in at more like 7m (but offset obviously by whatever One does at launch)

Correct, 78.2m

Good numbers... they shipped surprising low numbers in Q3 and it was expected to have better shipments this time... 1m is even better than what I expected.

So the X360 is only down from 1.1M last year to 1.0M this year? That's a pretty good hold.
