There you go. Processor will do everything you need and has a gpu that will be fine for pretty much everything. $630

If you truly are wanting to spend 800 to 900, dont get anything less than a 4th gen i7, nothing less than a geforce 730m, no less than 8gb ram, at least a 1600x900 screen. One thing to try out is go to toshiba direct and customize one. Not a lot of other companies have the 4th gen i7 in affordable laptops yet.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

If you're even going to be doing just light gaming on it, a dedicated card is an absolute MUST.

This one should be good for you, I think: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152393

Yes, it's just outside the price range. But the hard drive's size and speed, the 660M, and the full HD screen should be more than worth the extra $30 IMO.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

I just checked this one out. The processor and memory seem good to me but I have no idea what HD graphics 4600 is. What do you guys think?

Not discrete graphics.

Just ignore memory amount, anything you will find will be enough.

Okay and does anyone have an opinion on the Surface Pro thing? What the hell do I tell my dad to convince him that it's not that great of a laptop...to me it just seems like a tablet.

Surface PRO

Random Ultrabook

Scroll down and take a look at the specs. Same specs (the ultrabook even has a bigger touchscreen), but costs not even 2/3 of the Surface PRO. Would be enough of a reason for me.

That "random ultrabook" doesn't have a touch screen. You cannot caress "random ultrabook" and watch in delight as it responds to your gentle touch.

Asus VivoBook S400CA 35,6 cm (14 Zoll) Ultrabook (Intel Core i5 3317U, 1,7GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 24GB SSD, Intel HD 4000, Touchscreen, Win 8)

Yup, definitely no touchscreen involved.

Das unglaubliche Windows 8 Notebook mit Multi-Touch-Display

It says it has a touch screen. Even if it didn't have touch screen it wouldn't bother me. I prefer a mouse anyways lol.

A mouse? Please. Mice are for pussies.
