Sony mentioned this at the PS4 reveal. You will be able to try any game instantly, with Gaikai

That'll only happen if Sony forces publishers to create a demo for every game.

Not necessarily. There are other ways, like the 60 minute Full game trials on PS3. They could have a time limit for every game.

"With Gaikai in the PlayStation Store, you'll be able to try anything instantly, Perry explained. "Simply press the X button to hop in and start playing the game," Perry said. "With Gaikai, you'll be able to instantly experience anything you want.""

This is just PR-Talk, First Party - no problem. But they have to conveince or force developers/publishers to release the demo. Not every publisher likes them.

Read my whole post. They could implement a system where the publisher is not needed to do anything.

read my psot again, the have to conveince the publisher so that they can release a demo cause not every publisher likes them for every game.....

How do you expect bad games to have good demos? You're being unreasonable.

Its almost like you don't want bad games making money.

Why should people be fooled into buying a crappy game (especially if you can't get a refund as it's a download only game)? We get ripped off as it is. And it's only a good thing if bad games do badly. Then in theory, there should be no more bad games. Sounds abit like natural selection really.

Sometimes you need to take companies into consideration. There are lots of talentless studios and if they can't rely on people purchasing their garbage on a whim, they'll just go bankrupt. Demos for all games means good studios will get richer and talentless hacks will suffer.

Impressive how you manage to make that sound like it's a bad thing...

Personally, I enjoy blind purchases, so it doesn't matter to me if there are demos.

This where XBLA shines.

Yes, please continue. I would, genuinely, like to hear the full story.

Just about every XBLA and Indie marketplace title has a demo.

MS forced them to make demos. But MS doesn't have that requirement for retail games.
