DARK SOULS 2: "ACCESIBLE" MY BLEEDING AUNT.

Dark Souls 2 directors Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura want to make the RPG easier to understand. But they certainly haven’t made it any easier to win.

"Last week I met Namco Bandai’s Australian PR manager for the first time under somewhat unfortunate circumstances; I was right in the middle of spitting some highly creative swears. (Yes, this happens quite a lot.) He kindly forgave me my unprofessional introduction because, well. Dark Souls 2 isn’t really a game you should keep a swear jar by, unless you’re saving up for a Lamborghini."

"Listen, friends, I played a heck of a lot of Demon’s Souls. I played not quite as much of Dark Souls, but I’m happy to name myself a fan of the series and to snobbily lord it over people who complain that it’s “cheap” or “too hard” or whatever, the wussy babies. And I assure you, for all the talk of accessibility, Dark Souls 2 is tough. If it were nails, it would be the kind you use with a rocket launcher to hammer through iron golems in order to pin their autonomous fury to the walls of concrete dams."

This makes me confident that Dark Souls 2 will be excelent just as Demon's/Dark Souls were.

Yup I hope it stays that way

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

The way I've defined the games is unforgiving, but fair. 95% of your deaths are because you screwed up, the other 5 is lag while fighting a black phantom. This is a tough game. You need to watch your supplies, not use all of your healing, and don't get hit. That's where the challenge lies, being able to match patterns with the enemies. You also don't have that much health, which is another reason it's hard. A lot of the standard enemies are basically the same power as you, and you have to fight 3+ at a time. I can't wait for this game though!

...but half the challenge is the fact it is a poorly explained game.

Is like a fighter not telling you special moves exist. We've all seen that twat playing a fighter who dies easily because he doesn't know anything, that is a Demon's/Dark Souls player. Five minutes reading an instruction manual and suddenly you saved yourself a bunch of deaths.

You cannot call a game truly hard if simply reading something makes it much easier. A truly hard game is knowing what to do and and still finding it hard and dying a lot. Demon's/Dark souls doesn't have a lot of this, if you know what to do much of the game is a breeze.

...and I've platinumed Demon's Souls, before some empty defender comes in with some nonsense defence like 'You just hate it because was too hard for you'.

It's a breeze if you summon phantoms. Besting smough and ornstein without help on ng+ is not an easy task. Did you play the dlc btw? Some of the toughest bosses in the game if you aren't an over leveled casual.

Navigating through the clumsy menus are always annoying, no matter if it's your first time or in New Game +++, and that does not makes the game better. Perhaps that's what they aim to fix with accesibility.

Dark Souls is perfected game design. There's not a single fault with that game. Same with Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2.

hmmm right now I'm seriously tempted to try a SL1 run on my first playthrough, and hopefully PVP will be less broken this time >_>.

The only problem i had with dark souls was that there was a noticable input lag that would cause me to roll multiple times in a row and get me killed just as much.

Really? In what situations did you double roll against your will? Honestly it didn't happen to me. Maybe it was because of slow internet or something rather than input lag?

huh? are you sure it's not a problem with your controller or disc? I have put 600+ hours into the game and never exprienced any input lag.
