Forums - Sony - Five minutes into The Last of Us and I've already shed a tear. (spoilers)

The prequel was a surprising but damn, it just hit me in the heart badly. Just came out of nowhere with the protagonists daughter. I felt his protective nature over his daughter in the first five minutes only to lose her at the very beginning. So fucking sad.

I know! It's really amazing how they can make you feel so strongly only a few minutes into the game. One of the best and most memorable game openings ever imo

Theres only two other games that made me shed a tear this gen and one was Ni No Kuni and the other was Lost Odyssey. This was by far the most striking of them all though, good lord. I never thought I would feel this way playing a videogame. Put me on edge really quickly.

yeah the prologue was very sad...it's amazing how ND put so much emotion into 10 minutes....and if you think that was impactful just wait until you meet some side characters(SHIT GETS REAL!!!)

yep. best introduction ever.

I wasn't sad. I mean, that girl used to sell hardcore drugs.

Just kidding! I just popped in this thread because I've only played like 30 minutes of The Last of Us. Nice opening indeed.

Sorry, can't beat that God Of War 3 intro.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

I didn't cry but it certainly left an impression on me for the remainder of the game. It set the tone of the game and basically told me "Get ready to FEEEEEELLLL" and I did.

The reason why I cried is because I thought myself what it would be like to have a child. You felt their closeness so early on and when he lost her it was like everything was lost.
