I don't really understand why, I'm sure they have their reasons, but I really don't care either way. Why would I? It's not like I can read Japanese anyway .

This. Sucks for the few people that actually do have a real use for region-free consoles (aka play Japanese games we will never get in the west), but 99.9% would never use it anyways.

You guys have a lot of trust in NoA not to fuck up again and do an Operation Rainfall scenario.  I'd much rather have the option in case they decide to not bring some random game again that NoE already has translated and localized in English.

I'm from Europe :P

Actually, I was in the 0.1% group (my copy of SSBB is imported from the US) on the Wii, but with Nintendo focusing on world-wide launches I no longer have a reason to import games.

Around the Network

An upcoming game that makes me glad that the PS3 is not region-locked is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle. I'm guessing there is quite a bit of difficulty porting the game to the west because of all of the rock and fashion references in the series, so it will probably take a while before it gets a western release (or worse, it may never get a port).

I really wish that Nintendo would reconsider their stance on this.
