What does that mean? Your body can adapt. Sounds like waking up earlier would be a good cost for less activity.

McDonalds is actually extremely busy in the morning. I don't even know if Wendy's serves breakfast so obviously they are slow in the mornings.

Yeah, I work at McDonalds and it sucks ass. Despite what they tell you, you can't make a career out of it. It doesn't matter if you get promoted as the difference between a floor supervisor and a crew member is one dollar...whoop-de-do! When you become a floor supervisor you have a ton more responsibility and for the amount of pay you get is NOT worth it. The only time you will start to see any decent money is when you're a store manager...and that is a totally different type of hell. You have to deal with everyone's shit 24/7. It doesn't matter if it's your day off or if you're home or on the clock. You're on call all the time.

That's what gets me the most is they try dangling a carrot in front of your face but once you find out how awful that carrot tastes you don't want it anymore. In fact you find out it's not a carrot at all and instead a mind-controlling device they want you to swallow. There is so much injustice in the system that it should be illegal.

I just described how the system works, but at the McDonalds I work it's basically a hell hole. It's like I'm working in a pit of snakes and the drama doesn't end. You have double standards everywhere and for me personally, they show no respect. I'm tired of getting yelled at when they are missing food or when the orders are taking too long (yes, I work in grill too). Each day I"m finding less and less reason why I should care about my job, and right now I'm just about at the point of looking for a new place to work. It's not worth the stress for only making $8 an hour and being overworked. The whole system is designed to get the most out of their employees and to show as little return to them as possible.

If working at McDonalds has taught me anything, is that it taught me how to be a good worker and to value myself. The only way I'd recommend working at this place is to think of it as a stepping stone towards greater things. There is no long-term career there, and it's a place to only be looked upon as a way to get a better job. Don't believe the bullshit promotions they try to taunt you with, as there is little return. And if I could offer one final piece of advice, NEVER let anyone talk down upon you...especially if it's coming from a manager that has been working there for at least a few years. THEY made a choice to make that their current career, YOU made a choice to use that place to achieve greater things.

Keep your head up and don't invest yourself in this job.

My girlfriend used to have a part time job at BurgerKing (cashier) and she really liked it.
Best thing for me was that she always had the late shifts and brought me tons of free burgers when the store closed.

Yeah. It was only my 2nd day and this ginger guy was a real dick to me. One of the products was already filled in the trays for it but they had a bunch of orders for it so I made some and simply asked what the hell I was supposed to put it in because he already complained about mixing the batches. He called me an idiot and said it was a one time thing and just grabbed a random different tray to use. Later on I confronted him when we weren't so busy and it was close to closing. I told him I don't deal well with hostility (not in a threatening tone) and he said something about not liking idiots so I told him well don't act like one and you make the job more stressful than it should be on yourself because he's always bitching about everything.

He wasnt a dick after that but I'm not really sure if he will be in the future. Hopefully not as he makes it a bad environment to work in constantly bitching to everyone when this guy just does prep work.

I would NOT put up with that at all. That is crossing the line for me personally as you're getting paid minium wage and are overworked. Some idiot has an ego making fast food for people...yeah good for him. I'm sure he's a real winner in life right there.

It all depends on the location. Some McDonald stores are busier than others. And yes, some Wendy's stores serve breakfast and we had days that were really busy but it was usually slow.
