-Tomb Raider tops Top 10 best selling games for the January-April 2013 period. It's not a true "pure" top ten, it only include games which appeared at least on the top ten of a console. Ex: if a game was 11th in the PS3 top 10 and in the 360 top 10, it probably sold more than the 10th there.



The numbers don't include digital sales. In bold, games released in 2013. They say some major AAA games sales disappoint, they quoted: Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, MGS Revengeance don't appear in any top 10. Bioshock Infinite sold 55.000 (the IP doesn't work as well in France that in the anglo-saxon countries). GOW Ascension sold 45.000, GOW Judgment sold 26.000. Last COD & FIFA sold better than the precedent épisodes. Tomb Raider is the best selling release in the "January-April" period since Wii Fit Plus in 2010. For info, The Last of Us is apparently doing the same kind of number (despite being only on 1 console).

market has decreased of 13% this year, mainly because of Nintendo consoles. Wii and NDS sales have almost been divided by 2 in one year, Wii U and 3DS don't meet the same success than their predecessors in their prime (despite a nice +46% for 3DS). PS3+360 games maket only decreased of 1% in 2 years, still go strong and represent now 56% of the market. PS3 is more than ever king in Franch, its sales are as bif than 360+Wii sales combined. Home console/handhelds games share is 71%/29%

-Market shares (console sales):



3DS still leads the race, the system is more popular here than in the other big european markets (33% in Germany and 26% in UK in May). PS3 dominates 360 with more than a 2:1 ratio. Market Share by constructor in May: Nintendo 53%, Sony 35%, Microsoft 12%

-Wii U and Vita console and game sales are still pretty much insignifiant: WiiU sold around 160.000 units since its relase, Vita nearly 200.000. Some game numbers for this systems (still from the January-April period):
Vita: NFS Most Wanted 10.6k, Sly 4k, Persona 3k 
Wii U: 23k for NSMBU, around 10k for Lego City and Monster Hunter

- 3DS top 1 between January & April 2013: Luigi Mansion 2 (released at the end of March) > 90 054.
- Vita top 1 same period: Need for Speed Most Wanted > 10 656
- DS top 2 same period: Pokemon Black & White > around 30 000 each
- PS3 top 1 same period: Tomb Raider > 139 473
- Xbox360 top 1 same period: Tomb Raider > 72 809
- Wii U top 1 same period: NSMB U > 23 119
- Wii top 1 same period: Just Dance 4 >82 727

Tomb Raider undertracked by huge margin on both consoles and also TLoU.

WiiU a bit undertracked, Vita overtracked. (Are the hardware numbers up to April or May ?)

3ds numbers are up to June.

"I repeat what said earlier: since 3DS sold over 2 millions up to June, and since it was at 1,711,000 units sold at the end of 2012, this results in 290,000 units sold in the first six months of this year. Last year, it sold 236,000 units in a comparable time frame: around 23% increase, despite the first three months not being so strong (and, presumably, lower than last year). This means quite a big momentum for the platform from April till now."

Bloody hell, that Wii-U Vita market share is abysmal (I meant to say Vita first time, although it's applicable to both).

Is that showing that PS3 software is actually up 5% on last year, though? That's pretty good (if I'm reading it correctly).

On the software side of things, seems we have LEGO City & Need for Speed heavily overtracked; Persona & Monster Hunter quite a bit overtracked and Sly Cooper undertracked.
