The funny thing about people saying stuff like the NES generation is superior in skill is that it was mostly an easier generation than the previous one. NES, for the most part, switched from the twitch gaming of the Atari to memory based gaming, where all you really had to do was learn patterns. I used to literally beat most of the NES games I owned playing with the controller behind my back. NES only had a few really difficult games, the rest were cake once you figured out the timing.

Riiiight.  I'm sure Battletoads and Ninja Gaiden were pieces of cake compared to the likes of Pac Man and Space Invaders.

Are you really going to do that?  Are you really going to take two of the most difficult games from one generation, compare them to easy games from another, and present it as meaningful?  Isn't that kind of lame?

How about trying something like Defender or Yar's Revenge instead?

I was just interested in what you actually played back then, because everyone already knows that it wasn't Mario. I am surprised that you liked Mega Man.

Strange but true: I also loved Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers.

Geez that's awful. I beat that game when I was five on the Gameboy no less. I am heavily disappointed of the newer generations. We are going to be replaced with these kinds of people?!? XP

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

Even as a joke article, which I'm pretty sure it is, it's probably true since most games on mobile devices and those geared towards younger kids are devoid of any real challenge and difficulty.

I bet if you were give this test to "gamers" with a Wii as their first or only console, at least half of them would fail it as well.

Probably. The percentage of PS and Xbox gamers who would fail the test would be even higher.

True.  No autosaves, checkpoints every 5 seconds, or regenerating health.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Lol good article. Funny because it could so be true. However, what bugs me is that I only see people using the warps. Play the whole damn thing!

"We watched the replay videos of how the gamers performed and saw that many did not understand simple concepts like bottomless pits. Around 70 percent died to the first Goomba. Another 50 percent died twice. Many thought the coins were enemies and tried to avoid them. Also, most of them did not use the run button. There were many other depressing things we noted but I can not remember them at the moment"

This paragraph just killed me. omg.

That's funny, did most people miss the thing that the post was fabricated?
