Started one year ago?  How did Nintendo not make their biggest money making franchise sooner.  Also I'm kinda surpirised about how fast they made the game, in the back of my head I'm starting to think maybe it might be a little rushed, hoping its not.

It'll have been almost 2 years in development by the time they release MK8, so I think that's plenty of time of time for game like this. Plus I believe they said they're gonna take as much time as needed for this game, so I'm betting that means they'll delay if they have too.

I doubt they would delay it, there gonna need something big early next year to keep momentum going after the holidays. A 2nd drought could very well hurt them beyond repair. Worst case scenario, they do what they did with Mario Kart 7 and they get another team to help them out.

They postponed Brawl and LoZ:TP numerous times, so I don't think a MK8 delay is out of the question. Besides, there's Yoshi Yarn, SMT x FE, Bayonetta 2, X, SSB4, that third Sonic exclusive, etc. that could be releasing around the time MK8 would have, so momentum should be maintainable even without MK8. Plus, it's not like the Wii U will be in the same position is was in last year, where it had NSMBU and nothing else. This time it's library will be much more robust with SM3DW, WWHD, DKCTP, WiiFitU, Sonic:LW, Pikmin3, and so ons.

MK8 development starting only one year ago is new. It was a mistake to me. It would have helped Wii U a lot this end of year. Now Wii U has no killer app for the end of the year

Can't really say that's new information as it was pretty obvious that they had been working on the game for some time, otherwise it wouldn't have been playable or perhaps even shown at E3. MK8 will help the Wii U when it's released regardless of how soon or late it comes out, so I don't really see the mistake here. I'd rather they take their time with the game to make sure it truely is the overall best game in the series, especially since they already rushed MK7 out of the gate, and although that game was spectacular, it could have easily been so much more.

Also, I don't think they don't need a single killer app, but a collection of great games, as I don't think many people actually buy a system solely for one game and one game alone. A particular game may be the biggest reason for getting X system, but without other games on X system, it still may not look very appealing or be of good value. That's just speculation/assumptions on my part though. But anywho, SM3DW, DKC:TP, Pikmin 3, WWHD, Wii Fit U, etc., will be that collection of games that increases the value of the Wii U. I'll also note that it's important to have a steady stream of games flowing. You don't want to release all your guns at once, less you have droughts like the one the Wii U endured, and we all saw how well that went for it.

It's ne information, because you don't expect Nintendo to start working on their best seller just 6 months before the Wii U launch. That's a big mistake. Mario kart U should have been one of the first project greenlighted for the console, and the developpment started way too late. That's why Nintendo can't have the game at christmas. If the development started 3 months earlier we will be getting the game at christmas and Wii U wouln't have terrible holyday season coming. Massive, massive mistake.

SM3DW looks garbage, DKTP is a 2D platformer (NSMBU did not do enough). WW is a remake, Wii Fit U is a gamble. MK8 was the only big card they had.

I'll just ignore the fact that you basically repeated yourself even after I debunked your original post.

We knew MK8 was going to be shown off and playable months prior to E3, hence we also knew the game had to have been under development for a good while. What you expected doesn't change these facts. Also, what you're saying they should have done with MK8 they already did with NSMBU and look how well that worked out. Again, it's not a single game that sells systems but a combination. The Wii U's poor sales as of late only further prove this. Sorry to point out the obvious some more, but just saying the Wii U will have a terrible holiday and that X game is bad doesn't make it so. You aswell as the rest of us on here are the minority. Just look at Call of Duty. People on here seem to like taking jabs at it like what you're doing now, yet it still continues to sell uber well.

I will repeat myself as you have obviously some difficulty to understand. Mario Kart 8 with only one year of development was new. Everybody expected it to be in development for at least 1.5-2 years. Everybody excepted a christmas release. Yesterday, we got the information that the game won't be ready for christmas because the development had begun just one year ago.

Hope you understand this time and stop making non sense.

Good, you're response has narrowed to only a part of what is being debated. That shows where the advantage lies hehe. Anywho, you can repeat yourself all you want, but it only makes you look silly as it's incorrect n disproven stuff you're saying over and over. Repeating it a billion times will not make it so, just like saying what I said is nonsense wont make it true. "X because I say so!" is terribad logic as anyone can do it and it wont make for good discussions. Also, why are you talking as if you're everyone lol? I'm pretty sure you're just one person. Besides, what you or anyone thought, expected, etc., is not even relevant to this discussion, so idk why you keep bringing it up. You may have just heard this news, but that doesn't mean it wasn't released already.

Mario Kart developper admit the development of the game started only one year ago when everybody expected it to start way before.

Then you come and start whining "it's obvious it is in development for a time because it's playable'. Stop crying and saying non sense.

Mario Kart 8 development started only oner year ago, and this is new information. Everything else you try to say is just non sense and you trying to cover your fuck up.

U make some very good points but at the time Wii was already domintating so I didnt need Brawl at any time. As for Twillight Princess, look at Gamecube sales late 05-06, it really could have used a big game in that time.

Smash Bros Is likely scheduled as a summer release If Kart gets delayed they will probably both be summer releases. Out of those other titles only 1 or 2 are likey slated for Q1, I could see Bayo 2 and Yoshi releasing by the end of the fiscal year but those games are good support titles, not likely to keep momentum going.

Ur right about its holiday releases helping out alot going into next year but consumers will be really pissed if its the second year in a row with a big drought to start of the year. Wii U doesnt 100% absolutely need Mario Kart this spring but it would sure as hell help them out alot.

with the new consoles out it would very wise to have the huge games spread out. Mario Kart in Spring, Smash Bros in Summer and Wii Sports/Zelda for the holidays would be a very good year and have a couple smaller exclusives in between, games like Yoshi, Sonic, X, Bayo fill that role.

Who is everyone? Mario Kart 7 released 18 months ago and its not like they got started on 8 immediatly, 1 year of drvelopment sounds about right.

No, it doesn't. SM3DW looks awesome and it will sell millions. Deal with it. Tropical Freeze is ALSO going to sell millions and this one is gonna be the 2nd best DK game ever made...... unless Funky Kong is in it which will make the best DK game. Wind Waker is a remake of a Zelda game. OoT3D was a remake and it sold fairly well. Wii Fit U will  appeal to a certain number of casuals.

I agree 100%.I like his argument about NSMBU not doing anything, its literally the only big exclusive out right now and wont sell a $300-350 console all by itself.

The combo of Pikmin, Luigi U, W101, Wind Waker HD, Sonic, Wii Party, Wii Fit, DKC, 3D World plus the 3rd party multiplats like Splinter Cell, Rayman, Disney Infinity, Skylanders, Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed 4, COD, Batman Origins, Scribblenauts all from Aug-Dec will ensure a healthy Holiday season this year. While Mario Kart 8 would have been nice this year, its not needed.

Exactly. There are TONS of games to get released.

LOL at people thinking SM3DW will be a million seller.

It is a lazy game, the follow up of a 3DS game and it should have been on 3DS. No way it moves consoles.

EDIT: I wanted to say system seller, not million seller.
