phenom08 said: CGI lol your amount of love for Sony in that post is weird lol. "Sony's plans have paid off in a much bigger way than either of their competitors" was easily the worst logic I have ever seen lol. The only one that has still made no money from their plat and it sits at less than 80 million while Wii nears 100 lol. It has been far from an suceess lol but since you are a fan of Sony your comment doesn't surprise me lol.

Let reason do the talking - if your product is selling better than your competitors, both of whom offer cheaper and worthy alternatives, you must have had a better long term plan. They may have lost a good deal of money along the way, but that isn't relevant to the point (I was obviously talking about console marketshare).
Edit: The PS3 may never pass the Wii, but Nintendo didn't have as good of long term plan as Sony did. This isn't that surprising, given the latter did this with their past consoles as well (in conjunction to their competitors).

I think that the 360 can very easily surpass the Wii in terms of software sold. There is only about an 80 million game difference between the Wii and 360 (130 million ps3 but closing fast) and with COD Ghosts and GTA V, I believe that in both the PS3 and XBox 360 cases they should do 15-20 combined for each system life time sales going by past releases and trying to be conservative on the numbers. The Wii is around 400-500K software sales a week compared to million plus each the others are doing. Plus both PS3 and 360 are doing about 100K and 50K more hardware sales respectively over the Wii. The eventual sales or bundles will make it surge as well. And since both seem to be supporting the consoles from what I've seen in the upcoming months all these new console sales will push up the software sales to where I really believe PS3 and 360 will surpass the Wii in sales. It's a shame that Nintendo has pretty much abandoned the Wii, there weren't many releases on the Wii, they were the last in, first out, and were to quick to abandon it.
I agree with you about the support for the PS3. Sony has been very good the last two generations about supporting their consoles after the next one releases. Sure the games will start to slow down after the next console but there is a Madden 05 on the PS1 and Madden 12 on the PS2. I can't understand Nintendo's hurry to get into the next generation when they had 100 million installed base. I don't know if either console will reach the Wii but if they both pass the Wii software sales and close the hardware gap, factoring in that these other two consoles cost more, than I don't know how you can argue the Wii "won" this gen. The Wii U should have been released in Sept at the earliest to give the games more time to be ready closer to the release of their system.
