What about a new first person Metroid. Come ooonn, maybe if they hit Samus with some more Sex appeal and make it extremely fun to play, they'll attract... "hardcore" gamers (jees, what a stupid term). Ofcourse, I wouldn't care, I love metroid the way it is.

LOL You're serious right? Sony and Microsoft gamers have had more games to consume and specifically in the Wii generation more highly rated games to consume. Nintendo has high rated games but in the Wii era it was purely dependent on first and second party.

Mario Sunshine was Miyamoto and Nintendo being afraid to make a new IP. The greatest thing about mario games are giving him creative worlds and seeing how he makes his way around them without cat suits and squirt guns. Sure give him a small power or a limited ability of flight but most mario games are played for the simplistic mechanics but difficulty of using that simplicity to make it around clever level design guarded by enemies.

Mario Kart looks awesome too, I agree, the anti-gravity is pretty cool.

Also, hypocrite that I am, I'm very pumped for Tropical Freeze, even though it seems to play it safe, since I loved DKCR so much. 


Going by the trailers, there's no reason to assume anything beyond the game having Monster Hunter-esque online co-op. If it's to be a MMO, I'd expect the trailers to show off hundreds of players roaming around the open world, not a handful.

I don't see any evidence for them not being talented anymore. Their last game, DKCR, was superb.
