Considering his budget limit of less than 1000€, I'd possibly even suggest the i5 10400, otherwise there's not much wiggle room for a GPU anymore. But by that point, the Ryzen 5 3600 would be clearly preferable.

Another possibility would be to wait for Rocket Lake. The names are out (and even kept the i9 around - though it's just higher locked i7 here...), the prices are just missing so far. And while Rocket lake looks to be a big improvement in IPC, the question is at what cost? The benchmarks so far are damning: The i9 ES is on par with the 10th Gen i7 in single-thread and multi-thread. Though it achieves that at a lower clock speed, it's not clear if the multi-threaded performance will be much higher due to the low clockability of the ice lake cores. Still, it's an option and it comes with a more modern platform, so it would not get outdated as fast as the skylake derived CPUs will.

Well, over here in Spain the 3600 has a price of between 220 and 260 € depending of the model (regular, X or XT), the 10600 hovers around 230 € and the 10700 around 320 €.

Maybe the 10700 pushes it, but I think that all of them still leave room for a good enough GPU and the rest of the components.

I have the 10600 at the same price as you do, and as such about the same as the 3600 - and as the 10600KF, so I'd rather choose either the Ryzen or the KF. Thing about the 10400 is, the F variant is available for only 145€. That's cheaper than even the Ryzen 5 2600 or the 3300X (both ~155€), so this might be a good option if you want to free up your budget.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla reportedly sold 1.7 million copies at launch
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/assassins-creed-valhalla-reportedly-sold-1-7-million-copies-at-launch/
SuperData has shared its monthly report, stating that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sold 1.7 million copies at launch. According to SuperData, this is 50% more than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at launch. However, and despite these sales numbers, in-game revenue was down 62%. This may may explain why Ubisoft added an XP booster into the game.
(...)
In other news, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sold 5.7 million digital units in November, a 7% increase compared to the previous franchise record-holder Black Ops 4. In addition, the ongoing success of the free-to-play Warzone mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare helped drive interest in the latest title. Thanks to Warzone, Modern Warfare had 2.7 times as many players as Cold War in November 2020.
Lastly, Among Us had roughly half a billion monthly active users in November. The PC version accounted for the majority of revenue from August to November (64%) despite having an extremely small share of the total player base (3% in November).

The full list of Epic Games Store free December 2020 games has been leaked
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/full-list-epic-games-store-free-december-2020-games-leaked/
Two days ago, a list for all of Epic Games Store’s free December 2020 games was leaked online. Instead of sharing it with you, I’ve decided to wait a day in order to see whether the next free game would match with the one from that list. And now, I can safely say that this new list is legit.
>> While this one is more realistic than the fake one that appeared a few days ago, I'd still take it with a pinch of salt.

https://www.pcgamer.com/steams-2020-autumn-sale-was-its-biggest-yet/
Valve's latest Steamworks Development blog provides a look at some of the numbers from this year's Autumn Sale. Normally a footnote compared to the Winter Sale, the Autumn Sale actually featured some pretty decent discounts this year and was apparently "the biggest-ever in terms of revenue for developers and publishers". Ongoing COVID-19 quarantines in many countries probably helped the sale, which overlapped with a Black Friday and Cyber Monday that saw online shopping up 22 percent according to Adobe Analytics.

Nvidia releases a hotfix driver to fix a BSOD issue, stuttering in Avengers, and other bugs
https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-releases-a-hotfix-driver-to-fix-a-bsod-issue-stuttering-in-avengers-and-other-bugs/
Nvidia has released a hotfix driver (v460.97) that is intended to squash nearly half a dozen bugs, a couple of which are specific to laptops. One of them is a blue screen of death (BSOD) error that some laptops powered by GeForce GPUs are experiencing when waking from sleep while connected to an external monitor by way of a dock or dongle.
It seems this issue crops up from time to time. Looking at Nvidia's support forum, there are threads from two years ago, with users complaining of BSODs when waking from sleep. However, the BSOD fix included in this hotfix is specific to laptops.

Change your Cyberpunk 2077 hairstyle with this mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/change-your-cyberpunk-2077-hairstyle-with-this-mod/
By far the least shocking of all the things in Cyberpunk 2077's release that are very shocking is the fact that in a world predicated entirely upon modifying your body for aesthetics or profit or whatever, you cannot change your hair. Modders, as they often do, have found a temporary fix for a ridiculous thing in a game.
You can find a package of instructions for changing your character's look over on NexusMods, at the "In-Game Haircuts" mod. Thanks to the modder, woodbricks, for that.

Monday news, part two:

Dwarfheim owners can now invite their friends to play for free
https://www.pcgamer.com/dwarfheim-owners-can-now-invite-their-friends-to-play-for-free/
There was some genuine excitement earlier this year when the co-op RTS Dwarfheim announced its multiplayer beta at the PC Gaming Show. It supports singleplayer action but as James said at the time, the real draw is its co-op mode, which enables up to three players to take on a different class—Builder, Miner, or Warrior—and work together to survive the harsh environment and enemy forces.
The only drawback, of course, is that if you want to enjoy that particular aspect of the game, you need to have friends who also own it. But no longer: Developer Pineleaf Studio has added a new Friend Pass option that enables anyone who owns it to play with their friends, even if they don't.

One of Call of Duty: Warzone's less remarked-upon features is that, over six seasons of Modern Warfare content, it continued that game's story in and among the setting of Verdansk. These mini-stories will often introduce an Operator to Warzone, like Ghost (season two) or Captain Price (season four), and the arc unfolds through gathering 'intel' by finding it in specific spots of the map over multiple matches.

The clue's in the name—the game, which inkle promises does have an actual name that's yet to be revealed, is set to be about hiking in the Scottish Highlands. "In some ways it's very similar to our previous games—it's about travel, it's replayable, and has a strong branching narrative," inkle co-founder Joseph Humfrey writes on the game's development blog, "In other ways, it's very different. This game has a side-on perspective and has 2D platforming elements, which is very much uncharted territory for us!"

"It’s something we’re keen to carry forward. We want to respect teams and players who want to play co-op. But at the same time still allow solo players to still get just as valid an experience out of it. There’s perks to both. If you go in there by yourself, you’re taking 100 percent of the cut and it’s a lot easier to do stealth and plan when you’re not on comms. I say this with a certain degree of caution, given the conversations currently taking place over the sometimes unexpectedly wide gulfs between previews and reviews, but what I've played of Wrath: Aeon of Ruin so far has been nothing short of fantastic. KFC unveils KFConsole powered by Intel CPU, features ‘Chicken Chamber’, supports ray tracing

"The KFConsole features Intel NUC 9 Extreme compute element paired with an ASUS graphics card. According to CoolerMaster who are promoting the new console, the GPU will be capable of 4K gaming and will support up to 240 Hz displays. More importantly, this console will support raytracing, which implies that the graphics card is based on NVIDIA Turing architecture (we know this since the GPU pictured has a DVI port and that is no longer available on Ampere cards).

The console is also equipped with Seagate’s 1TB NVMe SSD. KFC claims that this console ‘runs better than any other console’. The company has not specified if this product will ever go on sale, and if it does, how much would it cost. It is a great marketing campaign, that’s for sure."
