Monday news, part two:
Dwarfheim owners can now invite their friends to play for free
https://www.pcgamer.com/dwarfheim-owners-can-now-invite-their-friends-to-play-for-free/
There was some genuine excitement earlier this year when the co-op RTS Dwarfheim announced its multiplayer beta at the PC Gaming Show. It supports singleplayer action but as James said at the time, the real draw is its co-op mode, which enables up to three players to take on a different class—Builder, Miner, or Warrior—and work together to survive the harsh environment and enemy forces.
The only drawback, of course, is that if you want to enjoy that particular aspect of the game, you need to have friends who also own it. But no longer: Developer Pineleaf Studio has added a new Friend Pass option that enables anyone who owns it to play with their friends, even if they don't.
Call of Duty: Black Ops-Cold War's multiplayer is free until Christmas Eve

Following the release of Season One across Call of Duty: Black Ops—Cold War and Warzone, Activision has made (most) of the former's multiplayer mode free until December 24. Presumably so that all the six year-olds who get it on Christmas day don't have to put up with you freeloaders.
Cyberpunk 2077 devs reportedly angry with management about unrealistic deadlines
https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-devs-reportedly-angry-with-management-about-unrealistic-deadlines/
Following a so-so launch on PC, and a dismal launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (leading to Sony delisting the game), employees at Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red reportedly asked some pointed questions during a video meeting with studio management this week.
CD Projekt may face class action lawsuits over Cyberpunk 2077

If you were wondering how significant the Cyberpunk 2077 launch kerfuffle has become, now even the New York Times is running a feature explaining what went wrong with, as they put it, what should have been the biggest videogame of the year. (...) In looking to the future the New York Times mentions that, "Lawyers and investors in Warsaw are circling the situation, contemplating a class-action lawsuit against the company".
PSA: Crafting a huge number of items can corrupt your Cyberpunk 2077 save
https://www.pcgamer.com/psa-making-too-many-items-can-corrupt-your-cyberpunk-2077-save/
A widespread, consistent bug causes saves for Cyberpunk 2077 to become irretrievably corrupted if they exceed 8MB in size. It's not clear exactly how this works, but a help page from CD Projekt RED asks players to "Please use an older save file to continue playing and try to keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials." According to CDPR, though the save file size limit may be increased in a future patch, the corrupted files will remain corrupted.
Kerbal Space Program's 1.11 update lets the lil greenies do construction in space
https://www.pcgamer.com/kerbal-space-programs-111-update-lets-the-lil-greenies-do-construction-in-space/
In what will surely prove to be a terrible idea, one of the developers on Kerbal Space Program has given the little green frog people welding lasers. I can only imagine what horrors Jebediah Kerman will get up to with a handheld tool capable of cutting into the hull of his own ship.
One Lonely Outpost is a farm life sim in space
https://www.pcgamer.com/one-lonely-outpost-is-a-farm-life-sim-in-space/
If you, like me, are profoundly intrigued by the phrase "robo-cows" then have I got a game for you: One Lonely Outpost. From the simple concept of "farm life game, but in space" the developers have spun what looks to be a fascinating little twist on the genre with its own unique features and ideas. It's definitely one to watch for fans of Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon as it prepares to release in Late 2021, complete with 4-person cooperative multiplayer.
Stardew Valley 1.5 will bring a Beach farm and "advanced game options"

Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone, alias ConcernedApe, has tweeted about some new features in the upcoming 1.5 update. Most importantly, there will be a new farm type, the beach farm. "Good foraging and fishing, and tons of open space," the description reads. "Sometimes, supply crates wash up on shore. However, sprinklers don't work in the sandy soil."
Call of Duty: Warzone's season finale announces the return of Soap
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-warzones-season-finale-announces-the-return-of-soap/
One of Call of Duty: Warzone's less remarked-upon features is that, over six seasons of Modern Warfare content, it continued that game's story in and among the setting of Verdansk. These mini-stories will often introduce an Operator to Warzone, like Ghost (season two) or Captain Price (season four), and the arc unfolds through gathering 'intel' by finding it in specific spots of the map over multiple matches.
80 Days studio inkle is working on a gorgeous game about hiking in the Scottish Highlands

Not long after the release of their latest game Pendragon, indie developer inkle teased their next project via the twitter hashtag #UntitledHighlandGame. The clue's in the name—the game, which inkle promises does have an actual name that's yet to be revealed, is set to be about hiking in the Scottish Highlands. "In some ways it's very similar to our previous games—it's about travel, it's replayable, and has a strong branching narrative," inkle co-founder Joseph Humfrey writes on the game's development blog, "In other ways, it's very different. This game has a side-on perspective and has 2D platforming elements, which is very much uncharted territory for us!"
