Tuesday news, part two:
Apex Legends leak shows off Fight Night and some flashy skins
https://www.pcgamer.com/apex-legends-leak-shows-off-fight-night-and-some-flashy-skins/
The trailer for Apex Legends' new collection event, Fight Night, has apparently leaked. The footage showcases some new skins as well as a look at Pathfinder’s Town Takeover, and comes from the aptly named SomeoneWhoLeaks over on Twitter. Even though it’s only a 14-second clip, there’s plenty on show here. PCG couldn't get an answer from Respawn as to whether the footage is legit, so take everything with a pinch of salt.
Update: It seems that a tweet in Japanese from Apex's Twitter has surfaced, confirming the leaked trailer was the real deal.
GTA Online's future DLC will have 'more of that singleplayer element'

Rockstar's Tarek Hamad and Scott Butchard spoke to GQ following the DLC's release, mentioning where this new focus for GTA Online came from, as well as the game's future. ”It’s something that’s been on our minds for quite some time and the community has been vocal about it," says Butchard. "It’s something we’re keen to carry forward. We want to respect teams and players who want to play co-op. But at the same time still allow solo players to still get just as valid an experience out of it. There’s perks to both. If you go in there by yourself, you’re taking 100 percent of the cut and it’s a lot easier to do stealth and plan when you’re not on comms. With multiple players you can split up and do multiple things at once.”

Earlier today, Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone tweeted about some new features coming in the Stardew Valley 1.5 update. Shortly after, he surprised us by tweeting that the free update is out now on PC. And just like that, you can read the patch notes here.
Wrath: Aeon of Ruin full release delayed to summer 2021

I say this with a certain degree of caution, given the conversations currently taking place over the sometimes unexpectedly wide gulfs between previews and reviews, but what I've played of Wrath: Aeon of Ruin so far has been nothing short of fantastic. It's a very Quake-like retro-shooter with huge, open levels, a fun variety of legitimately creepy enemies, and plentiful gibs. We said last year that it "feels like the Quake successor we never truly got," and at this stage that sounds pretty well on the money to me.
The Quake Xmas Jam 2020 is a slay ride across 19 new levels
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-quake-xmas-jam-2020-is-a-slay-ride-across-19-new-levels/
Is there anything more festive than blasting an array of thematically-disconnected videogame bad guys in the face while Winter Wonderland gently drifts through the background like a December snowfall? If your answer to this obviously-loaded question is "yes," then allow me to direct your attention to the Quake Xmas Jam 2020, a collection of 19 new maps from 19 creators that's just in time for the holidays.
Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a gun with a built-in tape deck

Dataminers have discovered a trio of new Mastercraft weapons coming in season 1 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops – Cold War, and these are not the sort of high-powered heaters you'll see on the shelf at your local Guns Я Us. One looks like a squirt gun my mom told me was too expensive, the second has a tiny Soviet ICBM strapped to it, NBD, and the third—the pick of the litter, as far as I'm concerned—is a neon KSP-45 SMG with a built-in cassette player.

Dead Cells' latest update includes Christmas outfits, turns all food into cheese
https://www.pcgamer.com/dead-cells-latest-update-includes-christmas-outfits-turns-all-food-into-cheese/
The previously announced Dead Cells update of "little stocking fillers" has dropped, and update 21 won't be the last you see of the game, which fully released over two years ago and still regularly gets new content. As befitting the season, this update comes with two Christmassy outfits for the beheaded, the classic red and white Santa suit and a costume turning them into a surprisingly bouncy Frosty the Snowman. Additionally, you can now enjoy a new Christmas in-game diet, due to a cosmetic change that turns all food items into cheese.
The Museum of Mechanics: Lockpicking demonstrates why some minigames just click

The Museum of Mechanics: Lockpicking is a playable exhibition of a common gaming interaction and, well, it's an experience like visiting the Derwent Pencil Museum. Before you go in you're thinking pencils are the most boring thing on Earth, let's get this over with, then you come out toting a gift shop bag ready to fight anyone who dares besmirch one of humanity's greatest tools.
