@Yuri: That patch is very impressive.

I wonder what have they found to make that jump in performance, because I find it hard to believe that a "simple" optimization for Ryzen's treat of instructions can bring those massive improvements.

Yea, what I am curious about is whether or not the other games will see similar gains. I know they are working with bathesda and some other devs but I am not many expecting old games to get improved. However, if Ryzen 7 gets close to i7 7700k level performance in future games, then damnn. Productivity of a 6900k + performance that is close to an i7 7700k for $330? Now that would be cray cray but of course, we need to see that happen in other games first.

We'll have to wait and see If the improvements were mostly on the game code, or AMD also found something else on their drivers part. In any case, I doubt we'll see improvements in "old" games.

What AMD should do, is try to find a way to extrapolate the improvements in the AoS engine and give them to Epic and Unity, so they can put them in their engines, a well as every game developer.

It will take time either way.
But it does mean that games in future won't all have shit performance on Ryzen, so that's a good thing, it's older games that go unpatched that is the real kicker.

Them Ryzen gains

Looking forward to what Ryzen 5 can do with said optimization. I do hope AMD keep at it and optimize for older titles in the future.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet but Steam is currently doing a sale of Japanese games!
All of the Neptunia games are heavily reduced so I did the only correct thing. I bought the complete package of 100% Orange Juice!

It comes with a Japanese language option so I can polish my Japanese a bit while having fun :)

Well, well, well. It turns out that Ryzen hasn't only improved in Ashes of the Singularity, there's another game that has been updated to improve its Ryzen performance: DOTA 2.

Tech Power Up has an article listing the improvements in an upcoming AMD BIOS update, https://www.techpowerup.com/231997/amd-community-update-bios-updates-patches-performance-improvements, and they mention that DOTA recieved a patch on March 20th that improves the min. fps by a lot

NEW PREY TRAILER HIGHLIGHTS THE BENEFITS OF STABBING YOURSELF IN THE EYE
http://www.pcgamer.com/new-prey-trailer-highlights-the-benefits-of-stabbing-yourself-in-the-eye/
The new "Neuromod Research Division" trailer for Prey may be the first one I've seen that's distinctly more reminiscent of BioShock than System Shock 2. Neuromods, by all appearances, are basically Plasmids: You pump the juice into your system, and you get a superpower as a result. There is one fairly significant difference, though. Plasmids get injected into your arm; Neuromods go into your eye.

HOW TO FIND THE HIDDEN BOSS IN DARK SOULS 3: THE RINGED CITY
http://www.pcgamer.com/dark-souls-ringed-city-hidden-boss-location/
Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City is a much bigger expansion than Ashes of Ariandel, and it has a few surprises up its billowing sleeves that you might struggle to find. One of those is a hidden boss who'd be better off staying hidden, if you ask me. My pride as a Dark Souls expert is gone at this point. It’s definitely one of the harder fights in the game.
