Prior to the launch of the RX 480, videocardz.com made a series of articles containing all the available (and believable) rumors, and I posted them at the RX 480 thread that was made when some early benchmarks were leaked.

Now, they are doing the same with the upcoming launch of the GTX 1060 and, given that there's no thread about that card, I'll post them here

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Rumors, Part 1

http://videocardz.com/61780/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-rumors-part-1

I hope I don’t have to remind you that our Rumors series are called rumors for a reason. It basically contains all information we can find, but it does not necessarily mean it’s anyhow confirmed. If you’re interested.. buckle up.

Polish website already has GTX 1060 sample

It appears that the leak about imminent launch of GeForce GTX 1060 is  no longer just a leak. Polish website called PurePC decided to spill the beans about GTX 1060 review samples

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 launching in two variants?

As you might have heard, there are two variants of GTX 1060 coming. The 6GB and 3GB version. However what you might have missed is the fact that at least one of those variants will not support SLI. What’s also interesting is that both of these cards are using separate driver names (unlike for instance, RX 480), which could further confirm that GTX 1060 is indeed using two different GP104 variants (GP106-400/300).

I only spoke with 2 sources about this, and it appears that it is 3GB model that would not support SLI.

GeForce GTX 1060 listed in Korean shop

The third rumor for today came from Korean retailer. This table shows products that will take part in Overwatch bundle promotion between June 28th and August 31st. First column shows available products, second column describes quantity of available products and third column mentions how many sets of Overwatch themed stuff will be added for those purchases.

PurePC confirms earlier leaks by publishing first pictures of GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition review sample.

Am I the only one who finds the placement of the 6-pin power connector... odd? It's out of the PCB!

ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 STRIX listed

Meanwhile first European shop lists ASUS STRIX GTX 1060 in two versions. Actually the information provided by the retailer is quite messy. While manufacturer code clearly sais 6GB, they still list them as 8GB models. Also the prices are definitely not of GTX 1060.

BLIZZARD SEEKS NEW GAME DIRECTOR "TO LEAD THE DIABLO SERIES INTO THE FUTURE"

http://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-seeks-new-game-director-to-lead-the-diablo-series-into-the-future/

Diablo 3 may not have received universal acclaim, but let's be honest, there's no way that its stumbles are going to drive a stake through the heart of the franchise—or a soulstone into its forehead, I suppose. And in case there was any doubt, Blizzard is now searching for a game director for an unannounced project that will “lead the Diablo series into the future.”

PLANETSIDE IS DEAD, HERE ARE ITS FINAL MOMENTS

http://www.pcgamer.com/planetside-is-dead-here-are-its-final-moments/

R.I.P. Planetside. The massively multiplayer online first-person shooter has been going, in one form or another, since 2003, but yesterday (as per Daybreak's announcement two weeks ago), it closed its doors for good. By which I mean, ruddy great meteors fell from the sky, distracting players while someone on a computer somewhere clicked a button that made the world go offline.

First-person puzzler The Room migrated from mobile to PC back in 2014, but it's been a long wait for its sequel to do the same. If you've been itching to prod more buttons and fiddle with more levers to solve devious puzzles, you'll be pleased to hear that The Room Two is heading to PC...in two days' time, on July 5. That's a Tuesday. Or a 'Roomsday' as it will soon be known.

LAYERS OF FEAR GETS INHERITANCE EXPANSION IN AUGUST

http://www.pcgamer.com/layers-of-fear-gets-inheritance-expansion-in-august/

For most people, confronting your family's dark and shameful past is a matter of opening the toilet door before the smell has fully dissipated, so spare a thought for the daughter of the guy from Layers of Fear. The painter at the heart of that first-person horror game turned his home into a sort of arty hellhole, and now his daughter has returned to see what state he's left the family house in. A right old state, if the first trailer for Layers of Fear's Inheritance DLC is any indication.

SCORN IS A DISTURBING HORROR SHOOTER IN TWO PARTS

http://www.pcgamer.com/scorn-is-a-disturbing-horror-shooter-in-two-parts/

Is it the dusty interior of HR Giger's mind? Is it an especially creepy Tool filmclip? No, it's just forthcoming horror FPS Scorn. As the image above and trailer below demonstrate, Scorn's most appealing feature is its disquieting art style, with a world that looks like it's set inside an enormous beast's oesophagus.

I've found out that the Dolphin emulator has a nice little extra trick: you can play GameCube games in VR! And it supports both the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.

*Warning Rumor*

NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN based on Pascal to launch in August?

http://videocardz.com/61844/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-based-on-pascal-to-launch-in-august

Before we begin, few words those who are unfamiliar with VR-World website. You might remember a site called Bright Side of News (BSN). VR World is essentially BSN’s new name, you can still find all BSN articles at VR World. Theo Valich is known editor and I don’t think his latest post is just a rumor.

According to the article, VRW staff had the opportunity to hold ‘GP100/102-based GTX TITAN’ in their hands just few days ago. Although this card (TITAN) is not expected to hit the market before GP102 Quadro implementation goes official, VRW actually gave us a date, which is August 17th to 21st at Gamescom in Germany.

GP102-based solutions will likely target 250W TDP, just as their predecessor for the past few years. Those boards would be powered by 6+8pin power connectors.

The so called TITAN P(ascal) would use either 12GB or 16GB HBM2 memory, with bandwidth 50% higher than GTX 1080 (so around 480 GB/s). According to VRW, GTX TITAN P would be roughly 50% faster than GP104-based cards.

DATAMINERS UNEARTH A WEALTH OF NEW DETAILS FROM THE BATTLEFIELD 1 ALPHA

http://www.pcgamer.com/dataminers-unearth-a-wealth-of-new-details-from-the-battlefield-1-alpha/

The Battlefield 1 closed alpha is underway, so naturally it's been pillaged by dataminers. This time, Lobix300 appears to have hit an unusually rich vein, uncovering all sorts of highly specific, unannounced information. So specific, in fact, that you can read the chapter titles for all six 'episodes' of the campaign, if you so wish.

BLIZZARD SUES THE CREATOR OF CHEAT PROGRAM ‘WATCHOVER TYRANT’ FOR OVERWATCH

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/blizzard-sues-creator-cheat-program-watchover-tyrant-overwatch/

Overwatch is a huge success on the PC and like most PC games, it received a number of cheat programs. The most popular of them is Watchover Tyrant, created by Bossland. And as a result of that, Blizzard filed a lawsuit against Bossland, accusing it of various forms of copyright infringement, unfair competition, and violating the DMCA’s anti-circumvention provision.

PARAGON ADDS WEEKLY QUESTS AND VICTORY CHESTS

Prior to the latest update to Epic's MOBA Paragon, players would earn a bonus reward for their first victory of the day, which is a very generous system except for those days when victory just isn't in the cards. To help ensure that less-than-lucky players don't feel like they're being left behind, the game now offers “Victory Chests” instead.

DARK SOULS 3 UPDATE NERFS THE DARK SWORD

http://www.pcgamer.com/dark-souls-3-update-nerfs-the-dark-sword/

A Dark Souls 3 update rolled out just ahead of the weekend has made a number of tweaks to various weapons, items, and effects in the game, including a long-awaited nerf to the Dark Sword. The official update notes say the sword now has “reduced weapon efficiency,” which the “Detailed Changes” thread on the DS3 Fextralife Wiki has broken that down to mean about a five percent loss in effectiveness.

No surprise here, once you get it (and with continuous upgrades) there's no need to change it for any other weapon till the end of the game.

New, and interesting, GTX 1060 info!

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3DMark Fire Strike performance

http://videocardz.com/61884/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-3dmark-fire-strike-performance

Although basic specifications were already leaked by us few days ago, we now have full specs provided by GPU-Z screenshot. Be advice we cannot confirm if TMU and ROP counts are correct (in my opinion it should be 1280/80 = 80 TMUs), but NVIDIA might have changed their architecture for GP106. So this will remain unconfirmed for now. However if the screenshot shows correct data, then it appears that GTX 1060 has 1280 CUDA cores, 106 TMUs and 48 ROPs (so that would be quite an upgrade over 32 ROPs typical for this segment).

The GPU clocks are 1506 MHz and 1709 MHz (for base and boost respectively). The memory is ‘confirmed’ to run at 2002 MHz (8 GHz effective).

More importantly GTX 1060 has 6GB GDDR5 memory across 192-bit interface, so just as we speculated for quite some time now. This gives us 192 GB/s of bandwidth.

If those benchmarks are correct and they are showing stock performance, then GTX 1060 is not much faster than RX 480 as NVIDIA slides suggested, but it is faster by 8% to 10%. It’s worth noting that overclocked RX 480 can achieve those results. For quick comparison you can refer to those results from KitGuru.

>>If that's true, that would put it slightly below the GTX 980 performance.
