The Battlefield 1 closed alpha is underway, so naturally it's been pillaged by dataminers. This time, Lobix300 appears to have hit an unusually rich vein, uncovering all sorts of highly specific, unannounced information. So specific, in fact, that you can read the chapter titles for all six 'episodes' of the campaign, if you so wish.

 

BLIZZARD SUES THE CREATOR OF CHEAT PROGRAM ‘WATCHOVER TYRANT’ FOR OVERWATCH

Overwatch is a huge success on the PC and like most PC games, it received a number of cheat programs. The most popular of them is Watchover Tyrant, created by Bossland. And as a result of that, Blizzard filed a lawsuit against Bossland, accusing it of various forms of copyright infringement, unfair competition, and violating the DMCA’s anti-circumvention provision.

The Halo Wars 2 “campaign cutscene” video that made its debut over the weekend at RTX doesn't show off any new gameplay, but it does a nice job of setting the table for an all-new RTS throwdown between humanity and a gang of angry aliens.

 

SEGA ACQUIRES AMPLITUDE STUDIOS, WILL PUBLISH ENDLESS SPACE 2

SEGA has just announced its acquisition of Amplitude Studios. Amplitude Studios is the team behind Endless Legend, Endless Space, and Dungeon of the Endless, and is currently working on Endless Space 2. Endless Space 2 will hit Steam Early Access later this year and will be published by SEGA.

GUL'DAN AND AURIEL ARE COMING TO HEROES OF THE STORM

Blizzard has posted a new Heroes of the Storm “In Development” video showcasing the Orcish betrayer Gul'dan, and Auriel, the Archangel of Hope from Diablo, each of whom will be added to the game in the coming weeks.

Prior to the latest update to Epic's MOBA Paragon, players would earn a bonus reward for their first victory of the day, which is a very generous system except for those days when victory just isn't in the cards. To help ensure that less-than-lucky players don't feel like they're being left behind, the game now offers “Victory Chests” instead.

 

DARK SOULS 3 UPDATE NERFS THE DARK SWORD

A Dark Souls 3 update rolled out just ahead of the weekend has made a number of tweaks to various weapons, items, and effects in the game, including a long-awaited nerf to the Dark Sword. The official update notes say the sword now has “reduced weapon efficiency,” which the “Detailed Changes” thread on the DS3 Fextralife Wiki has broken that down to mean about a five percent loss in effectiveness.
